One of two developed gems within Allegany State Park, the Red House Area is a fun place to get away from it all… while still having access to create comforts. Rent a boat and explore the water, borrow a bike and pedal the paved hike paths, or just lounge on Red House Lake’s sandy beach. There’s no shortage of camping options, either. You can reserve a tent site, rent a cabin or cottage, or bring the RV on over. If you really want to party like it’s 1999, assemble a group and rent out the Pitt Cottage. It’s Allegany’s prime vacay rental, and it feels like a classic hunting lodge. Oh, and did we mention the gas burning stone fireplace? Getting cozy couldn’t be easier.

You can't bring firewood in due to the emerald ash borer. Check beforehand to make sure swimming is open, there are occasional water quality issues.
