Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River. Featuring nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more. Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading. The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

The Beach 4WD Only

Perfect spot!

This was our second stay at Watton Airstrip. We rave about Damien and Tammie's place to our friends and we will absolutely be back again soon. Communication is quick, friendly and helpful. The sites are clear and picturesque. Our 3 year old loves playing on the riverbank and riding his bike down the slopes. A perfect spot for the family to relax.

West End 4WD Only

Our third time at Watton camp on the Macquarie River and always . First time at West End and great position for privacy. Short trip into Bathurst for supplies if required. Our only failing is not staying a few extra nights… We will be back.

4WD Only Happy Camper

Amazing spot! Nice and spread out, the horses and llamas were beautiful just wondering around. Damien and Tammie have been great emptying the rubbish bins, keeping the toilet paper stocked and Tammie's fresh baked sourdough was to die for! Will definitely be back!

The View AWD Accessible

Great spot, awesome views of both the sunrise and sunset! Fairly quiet, the entrance to the 4WD spots is right near this spot, so you will see campers come and go from this location. Really wish I had a 4WD to get down to the river, that location looks next level!! Damien and Tammie both stopped by to make sure I was all ok, and super responsive with communication!! I’ll definitely be returning.

The Beach

A fantastic place to spend a couple of nights. Damien and Tammie have a wonderfully maintained properly, even the pit toilet! Lots of grass. The animals and the calming sounds of the creek made for relaxing visit.

West End 4WD Only

River Camping at its best

We stayed on the west end located right on the river which is protected by the wind. Damien met us on site, who is a friendly great guy and Tammie was informative and prompt on the app. Overall had a wonderful time and would highly recommend their property. We will be back for sure!
