Meralda Station is nestled in the outback, offering basic paddock camping stays on our gorgeous little property only minutes from the Cobar town centre on a bitumen road to our turn off.

If you after a secluded, peaceful outback setting where you can immerse yourself into bush nature, Then our place is for you.

We have allocated an area where you can set up camp, relax in your natural bush setting surrounded by gumtree’s, native wildlife and right next to water by the Dam.

Unwind by the campfire if season permits and enjoy the magnificent outback sunsets and breathtaking night sky stargazing that the outback is renowned for.

Dam swimming is permitted and water sport activities on request or BYO kayak.

Meralda Station offers a range of added extras to make your stay more memorable with tours, hampers, animal feeding, holistic treatments and if any farm work is happening your welcome to watch or join in.

Please be aware-we currently offer no amenities or power hook up. So campers will need to be self sufficient and leave no trace.

Cobar is a unique town, rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Campers will be amazed by open-cut mines, Aboriginal rock art, museums and colonial buildings. They recommend a minimum of 2 nights stay to enjoy all that Cobar has to offer.

It was so lovely hosting you guys & even better getting creative with our little 1:1 resin workshop. Loved your platter, lovely to have in the van to bring out for sundowners.

Lovely host. Fire pits provided. This would be a good place for a stopover.

Location is a paddock covered in very hard thistles. Making it difficult to move around and not then fill caravan in thistles. Kids unable to play outside with balls/run etc due to thistles.

Location is described as a station - no stock or animals seen from camping area. Campers told not to leave paddock area. (So may have had some elsewhere)

Lots of additional extras you can pay for.

This location was not what we were expecting from the description. Please read reviews further down the page for more accurate information.

Thanks for your review Alyce. It’s a Buggar we didn’t nail your expectations. As with all reviews we take them seriously & It prompted me to check if we had any misleading info in our description. I don’t think we do, we offer basic paddock camping, in a selected area in a paddock all noted. Being paddock camping there will be burrs & dirt. We try to address this as much as possible but true to our read up it’s the outback and paddock camping we aren’t a caravan park and don’t ever intent to interfere with our landscape. Which I guess means we aren’t for everyone & that’s ok too! We are however bringing some changes for 2022, but our paddock camping will remain, as he kept as natural as possible as for mostly, that’s what people love. Onto our stock. We use a rotating system for their grazing they are moved to different paddocks throughout the months/year. During your stay our stock were in the camping paddock. Its unusual you didn’t see them floating around there somewhere… they aren’t human friendly so they wont come hang at the campground area, but unusual you didn’t see them in there somewhere… ? If only we could ring a bell & they could come like our petting animals. That would make life easier 😃 As noted in check in. We have tours for the kids for our friendly lambs, and goats which can be arranged as with full farm tour. Thanks for your feedback, keeps us in check to make sure what we are offering & projecting are on that same page. Hopefully next trip we meet those expectations! Lovely to meet you & happy trails!

What a wonderful quiet place to set up camp, so close to town and yet feels miles away. Very well set up for self contained campers.

We would thoroughly recommend staying at Jenn’s property. It was just on the out skirts of town in a nice open, quiet space which was perfect for star gazing at night and close enough to explore the town during the day. We were made to feel very welcome and would like to thank Jenn and her family for their kind, friendly hospitality. We would definitely stay again. Greg and Sonya
