Limekilns Creek Bends
You'll visit here more than once ..
Another amazing weekend at Limekilns Creek.
The Bends was the perfect spot for our family group trip, with enough space and level ground for our camp trailer and tent. Although a little more over grown from the goodness of rain, than what we remembered - its right on the crystal waters of the creek to beable to watch the kids have a ball.... and there is a great walk up to a few pools to swim in. Cover up at night around the fire, to prevent bites from sandflies / mozzies. Yabbies & little fish kept the kids entertained as did spotting kangaroos and evidence of wombats and rabbits.
Its a private and very quiet spot, although we were a little surprised to have other people driving down to access the river from our camp side during the day.... nothing like being caught off guard having a bush wee !
Dan was as always very helpful and quick to respond to our enquiries.
We will be back, Thanks guys!

Limekilns Dam view
Thank you Danial and Claire for making us feel very welcome and for sharing your farm with us. Dam view is a large and level spot to camp with a beautiful outlook. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Limekilns Creek Bends
Great off-grid camp near Bathurst
Our campsite was perfectly located next to the running creek and totally private. The only neighbours we could hear were the amazing native birdlife and the abundant crickets and frogs all keen to provide us with a nature-based backing track. Some kangaroos and a couple of ducks were seen in the distance and whilst brown, tiger and red-belly snakes are all common to the region, we didn't see any.
The track down to our campsite is very steep and rocky in parts and in others can be quite boggy. It's definitely 4WD only and if you are towing a camper trailer make sure your vehicle has the necessary GRUNT, and that YOU have the necessary 4WD skills, to be able to negotiate the track back up the hill.
If there has been recent rain in the district, check-in with your hosts Danial and Claire, and expect your climb back up the hill to be slippery. It is very steep, so if you are towing a trailer like we were, you'd be well advised to air down beforehand (if you haven't already) and use low-range, as there is no real room for any type of 'run-up'.

Danial and Claire were very accomodating and lovely hosts.
Due to a website error we didn't realise we had booked at 4WD only site, Danial and Claire kindly cleared a paddock for us where our 2WD could go.
It was such an amazing spot, big fire pit and heaps of firewood around to use. Was super private as well and shaded by trees.
We explored the property throughout the day and found the river to swim in which was so beautiful and refreshing.
Would definitely recommend to anyone!
