Cool little campground. It’s a neighborhood-like location but still very spaced out and private. We did see some people walking in the morning and shared the space with the house on the property. We arrived after dark and we’re loud setting up. The folks in the house were very sweet but let us know they were on a silent retreat. We tried to keep it down after that. Would stay there again. It made for a fun experience.

It was so peaceful, quiet, and beautiful we had to stay another day. Just far enough away from the busy downtown.

After two magical weeks driving across the country and camping at sites of all kinds, we took a last minute chance and booked Stephanie's place morning-of. The site is well-maintained, with a flat, cleared-out plot ready for your tent and a commons area where you can make a fire (conditions permitting), prepare meals, and wash your dishes. Surrounded by rolling hills in all directions, the site itself was reason to celebrate: peaceful, remote and homey, with room to explore on-site. But after setting up, we discovered it's part of a community of about 40 houses, each situated on a plot of land ≥ 2 acres. We met a few of the residents – everyone was very respectful and we had complete privacy, but when we arrived they made sure we had enough water and were comfortable. Each person, when asked, provided us with suggestions of things to do, and those interactions were each so stimulating that we decided to follow every suggestion. Understatement: we did not regret it! Check out the Lama Foundation, and consider hiking to the confluence of the Rio Grande and Red Rivers – there's a trail, ~1.25 mi each way (though the change in elevation is at least 700 feet), just across the highway. We left the site recharged and feeling like we owed personal thank you notes to at least three people :) Unforgettable. We hope to return!

Very peaceful stay. The man who lives in the cabin on the property greeted us and showed us around. Very nice guy. Might be a put-off for some but have a sense of security knowing he was there, esp with our kids in tow. Views from the area are amazing. The outhouse/sink area was great. Nice fire pit area. Everything was as described. Excellent first hipcamp experience.
