The Mustang Bunkhouse is conveniently located next to the outdoor kitchen which is the heart of the camp for meals, games and conversation.
Mustang's screened in front porch has a Sofa bed loveseat, dining table and chairs, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and and eating utensils. Coffee, tea, creamer and sugar are included for you. A picnic table is just outside your door to use in warm seasons. The bedroom has a bunk bed and double bed with cozy linens, an electric fireplace and a ceiling fan for your comfort. (Please bring your own toiletries. If you need bath towels let us know when you make your reservation). Mustang has its own fire pit and sitting area and is just a hop, skip and a jump from the outdoor kitchen, and Birdbath bathhouse with showers and flush toilets.
The communal outdoor kitchen has two fridges, stove, toaster oven, microwave, propane grill, blender, coffee makers, plates, bowls, cooking and eating utensils. In winter we plastic the screen porch and put a plastic curtain up and bring in a table and chairs to the outdoor kitchen.. It is across from the Pegasus treehouses if you are planning a trip with friends or family.
The camp is located about 20 minutes from Museum Hill, 25 minutes from Meow Wolf, Old Town Santa Fe Plaza and just 15 minutes to delicious food at Harry's Roadhouse or Cafe Fina. Tree House Camp includes 160 acres of land bordering the US Forest Service area. There are beautiful views and easy access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy a 30 minute hike to a meadow and creek (in wet weather) in the forest or climb up Shaggy Peak (about 4-7 hours round trip, depending on your activity level).
NOTE: We are up a 2 mile dirt road and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle, motorcycle, bike, or horse! Be aware that the roads can be snowy in early spring, late fall and winter. At those times of the year we recommend a car with front-wheel, all track or four-wheel drive and good traction tires.
Please add any additional guests 13 years and up to your reservation. (0-4 years old free, 5-12 years old 1/2 price, 13 and up $25 fee. To pay the half priced child fee please notify me and plan to pay by cash, Venmo or PayPal when you arrive).
To maintain the tranquility of our guests stays we are taking these steps to curb late arrivals.
Since the camp is quite dark at night and site locations are spread out throughout the land we recommend you consider arriving while it is still light out. It makes locating us easier and you will get to experience our beautiful sunsets and have more time to enjoy this enchanted hilltop!
Checkin times are 4-8PM Spring, Fall and Winter and 4:00-9:45pm in Summer.
Quiet hours are 10PM-8AM.
Please do not come before 4pm without prior permission.
Once you have located your site you are welcome to leave and come back after the normal check in time without a fee but please be as quiet as possible.
Contact us asap if you need a late checkin and keep us notified of your changing ETA. A $20 late fee will be charged.
If you are much later than described we have the right to refuse entry without a refund, or place you in a site we feel will be the least obtrusive to other guests.

This was my second visitmto Santa Fe Treehouse and it was ever BETTER! 5 stars for clean, cozy Mustang bunkhouse- which had a lovely screened in porch. And there is more- steps away was a huge open air commercial grade kitchen- intended for any camp guests to use. It was well stocked w pots, pans,
eating utensils, even coffee makers and 2 refrigerators! Fantastic getaway w great views of incoming rainstorms. Scenic,
easy drive from Santa Fe- slight portion of road is dirt but any sedan handles it without issue. Hosts Ciana and Brad are kind and courteous. Definately will
keep this as repeat destination!
Absolutely perfect stay! Beautiful property and such kind hosts! Our only regret is not allowing more time for all the wonderful activities that are offered at this listing!
This place was the perfect getaway for us from the city. It was very peaceful, rustic and very thoughfully put together by the owners. Both are very hospitable and knowledgeable.
I’ve stayed at a few pretty remarkable HipCamp properties, and this may be my personal favorite. The land this property sits on is quite magical. The hosts Ciana and Brad were outstanding, and the overall space and accomodations were wonderful. There is a bit of renovations happening, and I can tell it’s only going to improve from here. We really loved this space.
It was an excellent experience. Brad was so welcoming helping us with with everything we could possibly think of. The cabin and the kitchen was very clean and cozy
Hosts were very helpful and welcoming, had thought of many things to make our stay more comfortable. It was a great respite.
Staying at the bunkhouse exceeded our expectations. We walked throughout the camp grounds during the day and cooked meals in the screened in porch using our camp stove. On the first morning, we were already dreaming of taking our families back for a retreat when we have kids. At the end of the day, we could return to our warm room in the evenings. The bunkhouse has been redone with attention to detail and subtle country style. Everything about the experience was welcoming and restful. The stay was easy and our host was beyond kind. He continued to check on us and was honest about how to best use the space, providing any amenity we might need. The shared kitchen was a welcoming community space, though we never saw the other guests at the time. We cannot wait to come back soon!
