A stone's throw away from the Bosque del Apache wildlife preserve. Cranes, other migratory birds and predatory birds frequent the area. The ponds and swamp are unusual for New Mexican landscapes.

We booked online through the App in the morning and did not get a reply! We did not know the address so at 5pm we had to make other plans... hope they do not charge our credit card since we could not stay there. I am Sure there was a good reason because we have had good experiences since December with Hipcamp... hate to write a bad review but if you have an insta-book option it should be same day when traveling

I turned off same day bookings since I didn't get any notification for this booking. They were refunded per hipcamp policies.

We were looking for a hipcamp outside of Albuquerque and this one was it. Rose’s land is about 40 minutes from Albuquerque (or less) and it’s easy to reach. We saw an incredible amount of geese and other birds flying through. There was a really nice fire pit already set up and dry wood around on site. Really beautiful views of the pond, moon and stars at night. You can hear some cars, dogs and coyotes throughout the night.

It's a wild, private spot not far from town. When we were there the fall colors were beautiful. How generous of Rose to share her land with others.

The ponds are pretty and the site is fairly easy to get off the freeway. It is less remote than expected, and unfortunately the bugs at night made the campsite a little unpleasant. In addition, there was a smell of sulfur on parts of the property. The campsite itself is pretty and convenient but we would not stay again.

Anywhere you stay where there is dense swamp and ponds will have bugs. Also sulfur smells are only present when the river water levels go up or down. I can't control natural things like that. Its swamp and ponds plan accordingly please :)
