Love, love, love this place!
We stayed on our way to Wyoming and had a magical night. Our kids thought it was one of the coolest campsites - so quiet at night, so many stars, beautiful sunrise. Rowan wasn’t able to meet us but directions were clear and kinda fun to follow. I’d stay here again on the next road trip for sure!
This place was beautiful! As a lot of other people said, the stars were incredible! It took us a bit of time to find, so I should have asked for better directions. But, other than that, great spot! Beautiful desert and colors!

Rowan was great! Just too bad we did not make it there until MIDNIGHT due to us having to leave later from Oakland and an 11 hour drive. So we could not find the location at all in the nightime. This just make sure to get there before it is dark…or when the host is there.

Host communication is excellent. Beautiful location but got very windy at night. Would stay again
If you want a very isolated camp where you just have the desert and stars to yourself, this is the camp for you. Had a good, serene time staying here.
The views here are incredible. There are two things to point out, however. The first is the proximity (maybe a mile away) to 306. There was quite a bit of traffic late into the evening and the noise really carried. Secondly, this is a dry alkali bed and the white powder gets on your gear and does not brush off! This would be an ideal spot for amateur astronomy if it were not for that fine powder that would get into your equipment. Other than that, I highly recommend The Azuran Oasis.

If you’re looking for rustic, remote and beautiful say no more. This spot is amazing. Perhaps a bit difficult to find if you don’t follow directions well (like us). High quality stargazing with perfect level ground for tents and vehicles.

Azura Abode of Peace
I am so glad I found Rowan's property to spend the night on my long trip from Oregon to Utah. There is a long stretch of I-80 that has always felt intimidating as a solo female traveler, and the Azuran Oasis was such a peaceful and reassuring place to stay. I arrived late at night, and Rowan was there to make sure I made my way safely (I did get a bit confused because of a cell phone error... But he helped me out). In the morning, I woke up to an amazing expanse of desert. I will certainly stay here again when I make this drive! Thank you, Rowan, for cultivating this place of peace and safety.

This is an amazing place for star gazing! Rowan is super! This oasis provided our group with the solitude & beauty we were looking for. There is lots of greasewood (low sage like shrubs) & very dry sandy soil. We did not have 4WD, but did drive an SUV-like vehicle that was tall enough to navigate the terrain to reach the oasis. The composting toilet & shower bag were all we needed for our stay & super accommodating. We would go back again in a heartbeat. Great place! Highly recommended. One note re: the # of poles you pass before turning right at the stones, turn just west of the 5th pole. Thank you, Rowan! Your hospitality was filled with kindness & greatly appreciated.

Caravanserai at Azura
Rowan was a great host! Incredibly communicative and helpful. We stopped overnight on a road trip and loved the scenery- sunset was top notch! The accommodations were clean and cozy. Remember to bring firewood for the great fire pit and bio degradable paper in case the toilet isn’t working. We’ll be back!
Amazing site! Rowan was super gracious and made sure we found the spot ok. It's secluded, quiet, and unique with lots of space to spread out. Even the drive in from the highway was beautiful. Definitely involved a little off-roading for 5-10 min but my CRV handled it fine and it was well-worth the 15ish minute drive from the highway

Caravanserai at Azura
This valley is pure magic and Rowan’s sweet canvas tent setup is exactly what we needed to make our camping trip memorable! There’s an incredibly efficient wood burning stove with a water boiler to make the space warm and aid in cooking. The bed was just what my sore muscles needed and I slept like a absolute lump till late into the morning.
Rowan is the nicest, most thoughtful host one could hope for. He welcomed us with open arms and helped us out every chance he could.
I will definitely be back!
Renting from Rowan in this amazing location was the highlight of our trip. The place is amazing. You have to travel a half mile in a dried up, kind of bumpy road but after that your on smooth dry clay. Just pick your spot for star watching.

This is a unique and beautiful property. The road getting out there is rough with a trailer - we needed our four-wheel drive. The spot was private, quiet, clean, and no real amenities. This is a great spot for self-contained camping. About 10 miles from the main highway and a great spot for stargazing and sunsets.

Great spot for beauty and privacy. Pick your own spot and watch the wild life. An antelope came up to 50 yards of my truck as I video taped him. Apparently as curious of me as I was of him.

Great remote stop over on our way to Wyoming. Rowan was an amazing host! Directions were provided with great detail, which provided us comfort upon our late 8:00pm arrival. Views of the snowy mountains were epic, landscaped offered great hiking with our dog off leash. Would definitely go back for a longer stay in the summer.

Rowan was really helpful and came to meet us at the road when we took a wrong turn. Campsite is really nice and the teepee is very comfortable
My boyfriend and I stayed for only one night - but we would have loved to stay longer!! When we arrived the sun was just setting and it was a gorgeous scene! Rowan greeted us and was very friendly! The only thing is, the terrain upon entering was kind of rough, due to rain in the desert I’m sure (no fault of the owners). We were hauling a trailer and it took us about 20 minutes to drive back to camp, and although it may not be ideal for trailer hauling, it was entirely worth it! The weather was perfect, not too hot or too cold and the scenery as I mentioned was so incredibly worth it. Middle of the desert, the town you drive in to get there is pretty interesting and you have the view of mountains in the distance. Beautiful piece of property!
This location was INCREDIBLE. It's very remote, but Rowan's detailed instructions are extremely helpful in getting there. While there we had so much open space to ourselves, our dog could roam off-leash with us as we explored the gorgeous dried lake bed. It was very quiet and peaceful, and you couldn't beat the view of the stars, sunset, and sunrise. We got ourselves into a bit of trouble leaving when my boyfriend decided to go right through a puddle and promptly got stuck in the mud, but Rowan was there in a flash to help try and dig us out and even chatted with us while we waiting for the tow truck to arrive lol. Rowan is THE MAN!! We can't wait to head back and stay for a few nights (and avoid the puddles this time). Thanks again, Rowan!
Super friendly host on site. It's a decent spot if you want to pull off 80 and drive ~20 miles South. The clay ground is covered in salt, so don't freak out. This place is basically just random plot of land that is a place to park for the night without worrying about finding a free spot down some random Nevada road.
This place is so cool. We stopped by on our cross-country road trip from Chicago to San Francisco, and it was so nice to leave the highway life and escape into such a remote and beautiful place.
What really sets this place apart is Rowan, the amazing host. He was super helpful in providing directions and helping us find the place. Fast communication from the get-go, by both phone and text.
The place is quite tucked away and a bit hard to find at night. If possible, I recommend getting there in the daylight. However, if night is your only option, Rowan is there to help!
I will also say that during our stay, the road to get to the campsite was kind of adventurous. From what Rowan told us, the dirt road is very easy to drive most of the year. If you do not have a capable 4WD vehicle, I would recommend asking Rowan about the state of the road before venturing out.
All-in-all, such a beautiful and unique spot to spend the night. Beats a motel 100 times over! We would love to come back again.
If you want solitude in the middle of nowhere but only 15-20 minutes from 80 this is the place. Rowan is an amazing host, great with communication. If you are directionally challenged (me), he will meet you and guide you in. Not sure I would want to drive this in my Honda Civic but in a small SUV it was no problem It was cloudy so no star show for me but I was treated to a beautiful sunset

Amazing location, sunset and sunrise in the mountain/desert are woaw ! We had a great experience !
Classic desert - feels like a western. Good star gazing. Host is cool. Had fun playing frisbee out there and riding bikes around in the day, and slept real well at night.
This spot is actually really well located for people driving through nevada - there are not that many places to camp nearby.
