Flew in plane out of Homer, landed on beach, and bears were all around us near stream. Salmon were not running strong, but there was activity. Worth seeing the bears up close in a group of people who knew what they were doing

“Once in a lifetime experience”
I spent two nights camping at Brooks Camp Campground in late August 2022. Highly recommend tent camping ($27/night) vs. staying in the cabins (+$1,000/night). Tent campers can still access the lodge dining hall buffet and bar for a small fee.
The park was very quiet during my stay, as the odds of seeing bears fishing this time of year was low—but we lucked out—we had consistent bear watching the entire stay. One of my all-time favorite life experiences.
