Stone Lodge Pastures is right at the interstate off-ramp but still quiet and private. The horses greeted us and then let us be. The grounds are a bit of a challenge to find a level space but we managed after a couple of tries. Although the grounds are not green and verdant like you might expect in a pasture it worked well for us for a place to park, eat and sleep.
Positives-Sam was very good a communication, the site was peaceful and private.
Cons - the bathroom was just a toilet in a workroom no sink.
This one was a toss up for our group my daughter snd I liked the horses my husband and son were not fans but it was very clear that horses were on site so that ‘s on me 🙂
Host was friendly and incredibly helpful. Showed us easy to follow directions of where we can stay and was easy to reach.
He gave great directions and I had no problem finding it. An extension cord was there but we didn’t need any hook ups. Some horses come up and met us in the morning. In our rooftop tent we could hear the freeway traffic but if you are in a camper or van I bet it would not be too noticeable.

10/10 would recommend. When we rolled into town, we were a little concerned about it being “in town” but once we saw the property and got setup, all was perfect. Our favorite part was watching the sunset and looking at the horses while preparing dinner. We booked late on a Friday evening for a same day arrival and Sam was very communicative with instructions for how to get in and get setup.
Felt the base rental rate $25 for no services of any kind was a bit high. Add on MT Lodging tax and HipCamp fee the total of $34 was just wrong for the location/conditions.
Host did not show up, there were zero signs to indicate owner requested HipCamp "camp sites'. So just parked rig in shop/yard area of dry, hot, packed earth. No nice view like the ad. Actually considered just driving on to the next USFS campground - - - but it was getting hot, I had paid, and was in need of a drink & sleep.
Great spot just two exits to Great Falls. We were in a pasture and had the company of a few horses. So much nicer than city noise.
Sam was a great host, met us on arrival and gave us options of where to park.
BMW rally was this weekend in Great Falls and word should spread about this place.

Hey Craig! I understand. I would have been happy to meet you and get you set up in a spot more pleasing to you. The property is 20 acres with plenty of nice wide open spots to park. Other visitors were very happy with their experience. Thank you for being understanding as I am brand new to HipCamp and doing my best to learn along the way. Best wishes to you. -Sam
