Peaceful and quiet surrounded by lots of wildflowers, wildlife, and the pleasant aroma of sagebrush. Parking area is reasonably flat. Remote subdivision on 4500-foot ridge, 10 miles from Columbus exit 408, off of Interstate 90. You will be the only guests; and residents, like me, are no closer than 250 feet. Your camping spot is near the road for easy access, but the road is private and dead-ends just beyond my property, so traffic is very minimal.

GETTING TO MY SITE: Expect a 20-minute drive and a 1000-foot increase in elevation, from the nearby town of Columbus; most of the incline occurs during a 3-mile stretch of the 4.8 miles of gravel road, which can accommodate any size vehicle, is well-maintained and graded frequently (last graded July 26th), but washboarding of 1 to 3 inches can be expected for about a mile, in total. Areas with washboarding require slow speeds if you don't want a bumpy ride.

If you value secluded spots, please be aware that you will be in the complete open - but this gives you spectacular, unobstructed views 🙂. Also, there are no fleas, but ticks are common (minimal this year), and rattle snake encounters are possible, but uncommon. Nighttime animal encounters could be a mouse, deer, or the neighbor's cat.

My desire to become a host was to give others a chance to experience what I have been fortunate to have at my doorstep. Besides the surroundings, I strive to provide my guests with info about the area; after you set up your campsite, I will come over and be happy to answer any questions.

Due to smoke, views may be obscured during your stay.
