Wonderful place to stay
This is a great place with wonderful host Lance and Patrica. There’s plenty of room on there 180 acres you can camp near the river if you wish they are very relaxed with sharing their property. Definitely stay here and meet Zi and Cole the two most friendly dogs one could expect to meet. This place should be renamed wonderful mountain.
Magical, serene, restorative.
Lance and Patricia are fantastic hosts. Between their hospitality and the beauty of the property, Water Mountain is one of my favorite places to get away. You’re able to pick where you want to camp; whether it’s in the well kept field, or on multiple sites along the trails that lead through the property. I highly recommend checking this place out; and don’t forget a blanket to put down, the night sky is breathtaking!
Great open space for a camp night
Patricia and Lance were accommodating hosts. The rustic outdoor shower was refreshing. We had a great fire at the site we chose in the field/meadows area. Our dogs were running freely. And we enjoyed being tucked under the trees.
Great nature getaway
Excellent staff and a great camp site. I will say that the river is quite a hike even though there’s a road you can take. We took our truck down there and I’m glad we did because the road is very uneven (we didn’t want to even risk it on the river drive). Otherwise it was a wonderful time! Highly recommended if you’re ready for a real camping experience!
Not private. unsafe. disappointing.
Not at all like what the description describes. We felt like it was basically someone's large backyard. The river access was quite far from our campsite not like the pictures make you think it is right there. Pets are allowed and we brought our dog with us and she is well behaved and able to follow our commands while unleashed. We had other dogs at our campsite almost the entire time we were there. Other guests were mostly friendly but not mindful or considerate of our desire to be alone and have quiet space. Three male guests were quite rude and used profanity at us when they drove by saying "we are back b*tches". We were supposed to stay two nights and we felt unsafe when a large bonfire and drinking party was started near our site. Not sure that COVID protocols were being followed. We ended up packing up at 10pm and leaving early. The website has an option to check for a "bundle of firewood" to be delivered to your site when you arrive. That sounded like a lovely feature. When we arrived we were told that we could burn any wood on the property that we could find. Our registration included a campsite number. Nothing was numbered and we were told we could set up camp basically anywhere. It was not clear how any COVID protocols were being practiced at this location. Seems like a button they clicked. I would NOT go back here and would NOT recommend it to anyone. It was not worth $40 a night. More like $10 maximum.
