01 - Pull Thru Water/Electric 25'

Un-Hip Camp

The carthage area is nice and if you have an RV and plan to stay more than one night, it may be a nicer experience. However as we camp in a teardrop pulling into a 10 foot wide slip in a pea gravel parking lot was less than inspiring. There is no fire ring or picnic table in the overnight parking lot. The bathroom is fine with 2 showers in each side but in the ladies you had to pass through the first to get to the 2nd so it would be impractical for two people not together to shower at the same time. There are picnic tables around the perimeter that we probably could have used. It was not clear. Lastly, we booked site 1 as it was on the end closest to the bathroom so we’d only have neighbors on one side. When we arrived we were reassigned to a different, less expensive spot in the middle of the row (space 3). When I looked at the app this spot rented for about half of what we paid. While the owner did say in his emailed laundry list of rules that he reserved the right to reassign locations, it only seems fair that the reassignment happen within the same price band. If you stay I can highly recommend the Lazy J Steakhouse. Very close, delicious and a very good value with a much nicer atmosphere than a pea gravel parking lot.

01 - Pull Thru Water/Electric 25'

Most people were camped at the opposite end of the camp ground then I was, far away from the camp office. I didn’t know that when I reserved. I like the restrooms, they were heated, they had hot water, and the showers were nice.

Beautiful location! We came in late and left early the next morning and wish we would have stayed a couple days!

Nice pull through site. Level. 2 fenced dog lots, so we could let the boys off the leash for a bit. Warm bath house with plenty of hot water. Other campers were very quiet. Good stop overall!
