Originally this 24' wooden Lake Superior fishing boat was trailered up the bluff to our farm pond to be used as a warming house for ice skating. Remodeled and rustic. You can relax next to the long dock into our beautiful pond, listening to the frogs at night. Or go for a hike on our 40 acres, or enjoy sitting by a fire outside. There are new screened windows and leveled sleeping area with pads. (uneven floor might be difficult for some...) Bring your own sleeping bag, flash lights, cook stove & camp; gear. There is a covered cooking space, fire pit with wood, and wash basin. A nice little toilet in refitted VW minibus next to the boat. Pack out trash. Dogs must be leashed! Sadly, NOT ADVISED FOR CHILDREN!! "Safety First" .-Sorry! -->Keep in mind that the space is BEST for two people, maybe one extra person or one dog, but not both. If there are more people (no more than a Total of four) please bring a tent for your comfort! Limit, ONE dog. We want you and your neighbors to enjoy your stay.

How lucky were we to stumble upon this little gem?! Rolled in last minute for one night. Ann was a friendly, helpful host. The little boat was so cute. The space was set up perfectly. A bathroom in the back of an old VW bug? Yes please!
We had a lovely time staying at the Big Dipper. It was the perfect space for my husband, teenage daughter, and myself. We all slept very comfortably in the boat. We had a great time sitting on the dock, listening to the nature sounds, sitting by our campfire, and playing fetch with the farm dog Daisy. We would highly recommend staying at the Big Dipper. We'll be back!
The farm is a peaceful oasis. Ann and Burnell, and Daisy the resident dog, were so friendly and welcoming. The boat is not the most typical lodging, but it was all the more charming for it. The sleeping surface was both level and comfortable, which made for a wonderful night's sleep. We fell asleep to the sound of frogs and woke to songbirds and woodpeckers eagely looking for a snack. The resident chickens were also beautiful, and their eggs made for a great breakfast ahead of a day of riding along the south shore of Lake Superior. We would definitely recommend and hope to stay there again.
This place was awesome! Wonderful and helpful hosts, cute camp site on really nice land. The actual boat/sleep area is pretty rustic but clean and comfortable, and the screens/netting were great for keeping out bugs. The covered cooking area was convenient and they even provide clean water and water disposal for dishes. Their super friendly dog Daisy spent a lot of time around, which was super fun. There were 2 other cabins for rent near the boat, but plenty of space/privacy for each rental. Overall, really great experience and I encourage others to check it out!
