You choose the spot as long as it's not in the horse pasture, cow pasture when cows are in, or in the hay field when hay is long before it's cut. Hay field would be off limits roughly late June to Mid July during optimal growth time and cutting. We are a 20 minute drive from the North Entrance to Itasca State Park and the Headwaters of the Mississippi. Also LaSalle Lake Recreation Area is only about six or seven miles down the road.

A nice, private camp spot that was not too far away from the beautiful Itasca state park!
This was my first time using hipcamp and I was so pleased to find this lovely place. Felt very lucky to have spent the evening in an open meadow surrounded by woods. The hay had been mowed so we could have camped anywhere.
Your own private hay field, no road noise but the sound of wind and a distant loon. Perfect hipcamp!

We loved this place. The lack of bathroom and water was nothing compared with the beauty of our memories. The horses, the sunshine and the sunrise, the starry sky, all made a magic adventure. Thank you Terry for providing this remarkable moment!

We had the most wonderful stay! We parked our Solis on the edge of the hayfield next to the trees. It was incredibly quiet and serene. We saw Sandhill cranes and a golden eagle in the evening and in the morning a flock of 17 wild turkeys came quite close to our van. We also saw a half dozen magpies. Such a treat to see all these birds that we seldom see in NE Minnesota.
Terry was great and very nice. Where to set up a tent was a little confusing but Terry said she plans to
put up signs for future campers. The horses were great, the sunset was amazing. Mosquitoes were bad but expected. Would definitely camp here again.
Unfortunately didn’t get to meet terry because we got in late and left early but she was wonderful and super good at communicating!
Quiet, peaceful, beautiful place to spend the night. Great place to recharge after several nights in crowded RV parks.
