The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river.

The location is quite remote on a farm down by the river. Very quiet except for a procession of jets overhead starting around 6am. The dock is fun and good for fishing though the creek is very tidal. My girls caught 3 catfish. We saw many bald eagles and ospreys. Very pretty marshlands. The pond was very muddy and the girls got dirty but were able to wash off in the well faucet. We stayed in site 4 which is very flat for tents and has a great camp area inside the woods with a picnic table and a fire it with a grill for cooking on (with pots). The next day we rented kayaks about 20 mins away at Patuxent River Park near Jug head bay (highly recommend)
A beautiful secluded place to relax in the shade and get away from the city. I did not meet the hosts but the property is well cared for and clean. We ended up with an unexpected thunderstorm so we didn’t get a chance to use the dock or go out on the river but we still had a lovely time.

The place is kind of magical with all the dragonflies, butterflies, beautiful skies and wide open spaces. Thank you for the hospitality.
Yates offers a wonderful patch of land for camping. Had front row seats to a heat storm and the land was very secluded so the pups could roam.

We really enjoyed camping here! The campsite (#3) was nice and secluded. Great birding, and fun listening to the tree frogs as we were falling asleep!
Its set off the main road. Very secluded nice set up for self service. Never met the Yates. Great one day getaway with no one around for me and my wife
Beautiful and serene!! Easy distance to the dock/boat launch from the riverside sites. As stated in the listing, it’s a fairly steep incline then narrow walkway out to the dock- but doable with two people (we had two 13 ft kayaks) and soooo worth it to paddle around those beautiful waterways! There were a fair amount of ticks around so make sure you have some protection on board for your dogs and yourself. We definitely plan to return to this place!
