Yes, it was a beautiful setting on a private lake. Ginger welcomed us and helped us settle in. It’s mosquito season in all of Maine, so after these pesky devils wore themselves out, we ventured out to enjoy the pleasures of this lake and gorgeously wooded property. The next morning, I caught sight of the frogs and little fishes in the clear lake edges and appreciated the field of trillium under the pines. I’d happily recommend this place to others traveling through.
Barred owl goodnight wishes
Such a lovely property with a whole lake to ourselves. Ginger and her dog Odie were very inviting and kind. We really enjoyed taking the kayaks out and exploring. And we were sent a good night by a barred owl and woke up to numerous birds singing and chirping. Such a peaceful place! Make sure if you go during the first couple weeks of May that you have bug spray and mosquito coils for the blackflies. Also make sure to bring something to spray your clothes and shoes with for the ticks.
A heavenly escape to nature
A profoundly lovely experience that feels like you’re nestled alongside a private pond deep in the Maine woods, yet only 10 minutes from downtown Belfast, with all its shops, restaurants and galleries. Ginger is the perfect host: welcoming and gracious yet leaves you to find your solitude on the property. A true gem—both the camp and Ginger. Recap: freakin’ awesome—book it now!
Beautiful view had a great time with our dog! Ginger is so sweet and was a great host! Lots of wildlife and nice pond/lake. Recommend bringing a smaller tent to fit on the flat areas of land. Great place to stay.
Had a great stay
Ginger was super nice and friendly and the place is very nice. You have an entire enormous lake to yourself (besides the frogs and a loon) Incredible views at sunset. There are kayaks to use. A table inside a screened in tent. And the best perk ever for a campsite, a huge pile of free fire wood. Fire pit is right on the water so it makes for some good lakeside smores to enjoy the view. Absolutely recommend this spot
