Ellie's was established in May of 2019 as a single RV site designed for use by all Class A thru C motorized or towable style recreational vehicles including conversion vans or off grid vehicles. 50 or 30 amp electric, water, sewer and wifi are provided. Should you choose to book this site and use a vehicle that doesn't have a shower and toilet on board, you will not have access to a bathroom on site. You must provide your own camp potty. The RV's pictured belong to past guests and are not available for rent. Ellie's location allows easy access to both the Mount Desert Island and Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park. Spring 2022 update: You can purchase your park pass online and print it before you arrive. Reservations for Cadillac Mtn are now required due to overcrowding.
While Ellie's doesn't have direct water access, there are many shoreline points of access close by. Beaches and water access are everywhere. Wide open space does exist. Come explore the Maine coast.
All rigs including off grid and pop-ups, please set up on GRAVEL PAD only. Stay off grass area to prevent damage to the private septic system.
**Tenting is not an option on this site, sorry.**
Campfires are allowed on this site when winds are under 10 mph. Check local weather first.
Commuter traffic can be seen and heard from Ellie's RV spot. In 2021, just shy of 4 million people visited the Acadia area. 2021 was jammed with visitors, more than ever before, be patient in 2022 as we expect the same.
The construction of a small post and beam cabin is taking place 8am-4pm near Ellie's RV spot. Privacy of guests is priority. Many site improvements are taking place based on material and contractor availability, both of which have been by hampered by the Covid-19 virus.
For winter RVing, please send a request before booking. We have 30 or 50 amp electric and sewer only from Nov 1 ~April 30. Water, wifi and trash removal are suspended for the winter. Snow might prevent access during some weeks, others it will not. Request first please.

This spot was perfect for what we were trying to do…..winter camp. We avoided all the crowds at Acadia by coming in winter and this spot was perfect. Hookups were great. We didn’t have access to water of course due to temps. Getting in and out was great and the location was only about 15 minutes to bar harbor. Only about 3 minutes to Wal Mart
Local hosts make great spot
WOW! If you are planning to go to Acadia, you won't regret your stay at Ellie's RV Spot!
The spot itself is just off the Main Street to get to the Island. It has full hookups and privacy walls. There's a great green space and fire pit. Very very well maintained and kept clean.
Julie and Kevin are so kind and had great recommendations -- ask where to get some cheese cake!-- They are locals and Kevin grew up on Mt. Dessert Island so he knows the happenings like the back of his hand.
Convenient and private location
We had a great couple of days using this site as our launching site to explore the area with our dogs. The site was easy to access and super convenient to access the nearby beach, state park, national park and bar harbor waterfront. With all the crowded campgrounds nearby, it was nice to come back to our very own private spot. Julie and Kevin checked in regularly and were great hosts. Also loved the free firewood and basketball!
