Owned by Bennett Konesni, farmer-musician who is known for singing worksongs in the fields and traveling internationally as an ambassador of traditional American music. Garlic is the chief cash crop and all told he owns 33 acres of field and forest. The land is close to the town of Belfast and all of the fun that can be had in the upper Penobscot Bay and the Camden Hills. It's also on the way to Acadia National Park so a good stop on your way east. The land has been tied in with local farming History since Belfast was founded. Today it nicely straddles the culture/nature divide by giving people a feeling of the wild on the edge of a hip small town. We've got a beautiful and broad 16 acre field where we grow garlic and 17 acres of woods, streams, and a beaver meadow. Extra points if you see the beaver! Learn more about this land: 1. Pitch your tent on a soft, flat, grassy field under a vast sky In either case you can have a campfire, a quiet, private spot to enjoy, and we'll point you towards great food, music, and hiking in the neighborhood or in the region. We're a short drive to the Camden Hills and a little longer drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The land is five minutes from downtown Belfast and a short drive to all of the fun that can be had in the upper Penobscot Bay and the Camden Hills. On busy weekends there may be one or two others camping in the field - but it's a big field and there's plenty of room so it feels private. Most days I just have one group on the property.

Duckback Farm Camp

Bennet’s spot was peaceful and beautiful. He did several extra things to help me out. One minor example: I arrived after dark, and he parked his car by the camp spot with the headlights on to help me set up. I’m reluctant to share the major nice things he did for me because others might take it for granted. But he’s a kind and high quality human being. He’s also a really interesting person who I was happy to meet.

Beautiful quiet field

Amazing location literally 5 minutes from Hannaford, Reny’s, and Walgreens yet quiet and country. 10 minutes to the waterfront. We loved how close we were to what we wanted to see.

Fantastic camping under the stars

The site location was very private and well maintained. The host was very helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this spot to anyone traveling through or looking to stay for a while.
