Site 5/6 Meadow overlook
Excellent spot to camp!
Donald was a great host and was super helpful showing us to our spot. The scenery was great. The only downside is there is some slight road noise, but other than that our trip was perfect!

Site 3 - Salamander Loop
Great camp spot with lots to explore. The directions are easy to follow if you use the address provided in the instructions. There was firewood and potable water already set up when we arrived! We will definitely be back.

Site 2 - Bamboo cave
Everyone loved our trip here. Site to was very private and tucked back into the bamboo with just enough room for two or three tents comfortably. There are plenty of hiking trails to explore, very well kept.

Site 5/6 Meadow overlook
Great camping site and lovely host!
This is fabulous land with a kind and lovely host. It’s close to many natural areas, fishing and hiking. I tent camped among the oaks at site 5-6, and loved the spot. Very private and peaceful primitive camping ( but a site I could drive up to). A small downside is that it’s close enough to major roads to hear traffic in the early morning. Not a big deal for me, but if you want to feel immersed in woods, the traffic sounds could break that connection.

Site 2 - Bamboo cave
We had and excellent time camping at the Labyrinth Trails. We stayed at site 2 bamboo cave, it was a smaller site but perfect for what we needed. We have two young boys and they had so much fun playing in the bamboo forest as well as around the surrounding fields and exploring the other trials. They said they had other campers staying on couple different sites, but we couldn’t hear anyone. It was very quiet and Donald the host was very kind. He brought us wood for the fire and a large potable water cooler. I would definitely recommend staying here and we plan to visit again soon!

Little House on the Piedmont
We had such an amazing time. The cabin was so cool. The host was very nice. Made sure we had everything we needed but wasn’t up in our business either. My 7 year old thought it was so cool how eco-friendly everything was. The old-fashioned washing machine was a huge hit with the 5 year old. I would recommend this to anybody. We stayed in the cabin but checked out a few of the tent sites and they looked awesome as well. Cool surprise was watching people skydiving all day Saturday as the property is right next to a little airport. We will definitely be back. Best Hipcamp experience I’ve had!!

Site 3 - Salamander Loop
An oasis for wildlife...and people!
The beaver dams, wetland, and labyrinth were all highlights of the trip! You can tell this place is an oasis for wildlife. The property is huge and fun to explore; you can hike around and birdwatch for hours. We had great star views and enjoyed watching the parachuters right from our site.
We stayed in site 3 which was surrounded by trees and vegetation (all of the sites looked awesome and had their own unique features). We backed our van right up to camp, so it was super convenient.
Donald is an excellent host. He provided a generous amount of firewood and water and gave us jujube fruits! We were welcome to hang out on the property even after check-out time, which is always really nice of a host to offer!

Site 1 - The Green
We loved staying at this campsite! Huge, beautiful place with lots of room to explore. It was nice that we had our own space and couldn't hear the other campsites. We had a few cars and there was plenty of space.

Site 9 - Turkey Knob

Stayed at site 9 and loved it. It had rained in the days before our stay so it was a little muddy but our sedans did just fine. None of the sites seem too close together although we did meet our site neighbors while taking the dogs through the labyrinth. Donald was helpful and set up the site for us with an igloo jug full of water and plenty of firewood. He showed us where to find the bio toilet and even showed us around to see some of the cool (and delicious) plants they’re growing. It’s a beautiful place, fun to explore, and the trees looked great in their autumn colors.

Site 7/8 Deer Run Hilltop
Amazing camping experience
My friends and I took a camping trip on Donald’s land! We were at site 7/8. Amazing camping experience. Donald led us to the site and already had firewood and a water cooler set up for us. There was a picnic table, fire pit, and room for plenty of tents. We were secluded in that we could not see other campers in the woods, but there was a trail nearby our site so we saw people walking by a couple times. It was so fun to walk around the property. I would recommend this location for adult groups or families with children. 10/10, recommend!

Great spot for kids
This place is great. Very spread out with multiple options. More firewood than you could ever use and a great host. The two bio toilets are a welcome amenity.
The kids had a blast running up and down the mulch and walking the labyrinth.

1st Family Camping Trip
We had a blast camping at Labyrinth, Trail and Solitude. We only saw one other camper and had a quick conversation. They supplied plenty of fire wood for the weekend. I highly recommend this campsite to any and all types of campers from beginners to experience campers. I’m planning to come back soon with a friend. Thanks again to Donald and Dena for an awesome experience.

Private with lots of flowers!
The spot we camped at was nice. Lots of wildflowers around. It was very private in a thicket of pines. We enjoyed our stay there and Donald was a great host.

Little House on the Piedmont
We had a blast staying in the barn. We hung up some battery and solar lights and brought our mom here as a surprise for mother's day. She absolutely loved the cook stove and antique washing machine as they reminded her of her childhood.
We stayed during a chilly weekend so we used the stove to heat the place up, which was a fun experience in and of itself. Donald will give a quick and helpful crash course on how to use it; he also provided plenty of firewood and kindling. The composting toilet was clean, easy to use, and a pleasant experience! Donald had a beverage cooler full of fresh water waiting for us in the barn.
I definitely look forward to coming back and checking out the trails during warmer weather. If you're the type who loves slowing down, appreciates no electronics humming around you, and waking up to the sound of birds, you'll have a great time!

Loved the ambiance they created in the space
Nice fire ring right in the front yard and the composting toilet was great to have nearby,
Shower was cold water only but it’s spring…so that wasn’t too big a deal..but in winter I guess you’d have to warm water on the stove to wipe down.
Loved that beautiful old stove and cooking on it. Donald also had a two burner propane stove that created more cooking space for outside.
The porch is wonderful
We would return! The kids loved all of the hiking trails, it felt super safe letting them run around on their own

Wonderful spot
Beautiful farm land. Peaceful. Some cool skydiving was great to watch right across the street.
We had site 1 which had a bio toilet righ there. Clean.
Plenty of free firewood that Donald supplies right there. And he had a portable fire pit for us with a bench/table set up.
Lots of trails that the dog log exploring.
We’ll definitely be back.

Site 11 The 50 acre wood
Great Place To Do A Weekend Trip!
Donald was a great host. He was attentive to us at check-in and lead us back to our site. The sites seem to all be set up very well. There are trails to hike, the site is close to Lake Orange, there are fire pits, picnic tables and clearings which made the setup very easy. The sites are easily accessible and you can have your vehicle close to the sites. The host brought us plenty of wood for the fire to last the weekend.
There is no light pollution so you have a beautiful view of the sky and even though it's close to Rt. 20 and side roads, there was very little noise during the evenings.
It's close to Fredericksburg, offering me a chance to get away, but not have to drive far. Several small mom-and-pop gas stations that will allow you to get the essentials.

Site 10 - Blue Mist
We had a great stay on Donald's property. He has over 100 acres of land that he encouraged us to explore. We went from camping in the woods to walking out into a field and enjoying the sun with plenty of room for my dog to run around. All of his sites are pretty well spread out and there is plenty of wildlife. We even took a short hike and saw plenty of beaver damns. Worth the trip for sure!

A wondrous place to explore and play for hours and hours. I came here with my two kiddos, my friend, and his two kiddos... we all loved it. Donald, the host, was very kind and welcoming. We’ll certainly be back.
