At the bottom of the drive you have access to the New River and the New River Trail so bring your bike, or kayak for more fun. Bike the trail, bird watch, or star gaze; the choices are endless. This was my 4th stay at River's Edge Trail!! I visited with Jim when I arrived and I said it's like coming home. This was my first Hipcamp stay. Cannot say enough nice things. The views are second to none.

Extra fees here are a rip off
Honestly I hate the Hipcamp extra fee of $9.50 for one night to stay here and THEN we pay an additional 10.30% fee to ??Dixon Construction Company?? So your $50 a night is actually $64.65!

We will definitely be booking again
The views were amazing! We stayed at site 3, private on the one side and we had a grassy area below our site the kids could play catch. Jim was an excellent host he came by our site offered for the kids to use the trampoline while we were here and they loved that! Very quiet and peaceful! Bring binoculars for bird watching!

Great trip!
We loved it. OMG! the view from site 3 was beautiful! We enjoyed just setting and relaxing, watching the deer play down below , caught a couple beautiful sunsets and was bothered by no one. Site 3 is just right inside the entrance, plenty of room for our 29ft class C with jeep in tow. Full hook up was super convenient. Follow signs you'll have no problem. No doubt we're adding this as one of our favorites. Also while there we enjoyed The Draper Mercantile, The New River state park and Shot Tower State Park ( all of this is right in the area) plus we drove about an hour into North Carolina to Stone Mountain State. Park. Just what we need was a great trip ❤️
