LIKE us on FACEBOOK at https://www.facebook.com/riversedgetrailcamp Standing on the New River Trail looking up where the campsites are located will give you the feeling that you truly are sleeping on the edge at Rivers Edge campground. Unique limestone formations can be found on the property. Large birds and even an eagle or two seem to prefer this area for hunting. Watch from a distance as farmers cut hay throughout the summer. This private cliff top setting has 6 newly created camp sites on 5 Acres. Enjoy less crowds and more nature! The long range views or the river and farmlands will take your breath away. At the bottom of the drive you have access to the New River and the New River Trail so bring your bike, or kayak for more fun. Bike the trail, bird watch, or star gaze; the choices are endless. Don't be surprised to see bear, turkey, eagles, deer, or a coyote. PLEASE give us a rating on YELP also if you enjoyed your stay! Site 6/ full hook ups: Well leveled site in any direction. Very wide and the hook ups are in the middle of the site so when your rig is on the right those are on the "wrong side". Did not bother me at all. View over the valley and New River is amazing. Not always quiet during the day, you can hear the traffic from below, especially trucks (jake braking). Mostly quiet at night and you can watch the stars/ milkyway when clear. Fire pit and picknic table at all sites. You can access the trail below/ New River directly . Takes about 10min to walk down. Endless walks in both directions. I also used my E-Bike there. I arrived 1 day after storm Helene and there was no power and water for 2 days. Jim helped me out pumping fresh water from his rig into mine. Used solar/ Generator during those 2 days. Overall a great location and a very accommodating host.

Fantastic views and wonderful site! We thoroughly enjoyed setting up on the ridge here (site 3) and taking in the vistas. Power / Water work great and we will definitely return!

After dark and 4 wheel drive
Be very careful going there after dark because it is very difficult to find the site. The road is gravel and has steep areas and I had a 2 wheel drive pickup and a 4000 pound trailer and had difficulty getting traction in some areas. Also, be very careful to make sure you see the actual road signs before turning into a road or you may end up in a private driveway that is very deep and can challenge anything without 4 wheel drive.

Site 5 long weekend.
Spectacular view of the New River valley! Good clear skies for astronomy/astrophotography. Hookups were easy and the space was a breeze to back our 35’ rig into.

Unbeatable views - just book it
This may be my favorite campsite of all time! The views truly were unbeatable. We planned to do some local hiking but with Hurricane Helene, the trails were closed... but with this site you don't need to! The sunset was amazing and their full hook up access is easy to use. The sites felt private even though you are next to site 5.
