Learn more about this land: Private spot in a quiet country setting. Surrounded by 360 degree views of mountains, red rock cliffs, and volcanoes. Overlook Snow Canyon state park to the west, Pine mountain to the north, and the rugged rock cliff's to the east. St. George is a short 5 minute drive to the south. You're far enough out of town to have a peaceful country feel, but close enough to be at the restaurant in 10 minutes. Ledges golf club is less than a mile away, and the world famous Veyo pies is about a 10 minute drive. Snow Canyon state park is a 2 mile walk along a paved trail. The majestic Zion national park is about an hour drive away, and not to far beyond that is Bryce Canyon national park. We have ATV trails and a shooting range adjacent to our community. There are petroglyphs within walking distance to our camp spot. We are a bit cooler than St. George on average, and are nestled into a safe and quiet community.

Southern Utah Adventure Base Camp
Not at all private. Dirt ground.
A more honest description. You are camping in a dirt horse pen in someone’s backyard in a neighborhood. No views. No privacy.

Great spot to camp near St. George
Josh and Nicholle were amazing host. We were very lucky to book their place. They are the nicest people we have met. Very accommodating and friendly. Their place is nice. The spot is dirt. However, if you pick the correct spot it’s flat and can hold a few tents nicely. Their place is very quiet. You can even see the stars at night. It is very close to a lot of outdoor activities such as Moes Valley for rock climbing. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again in the future.

not what's advertised/
I booked this site because the amenities offered electricity, water, sewer and wifi connections. I checked these with the host at the time of booking and he confirmed them. When I arrived, I found that there was a 5th wheel connected to the power, water and sewer and so they were not available to me. the host ran a 15Amp household extension to me to give me some power but that can't power my a/c and it was 105F. The host offered us the use of a portable a/c unit, but that just blew hot air and was no use. so we needed to check in to a motel to sleep. The wifi didn't work either. The space is a dirt lot next to their house in a residential neighborhood. There's a lot of construction junk around and various debris. It's not attractive. My request for a refund given my poor experience didn't get a response. Avoid!

The description and pictures are a bit misleading. This is essentially backyard camping in a subdivision. The yard needs some serious cleanup as there is debris and junk all around the yard. This would be a great spot for an RV but not so great for tents. It's gets very windy here and the ground is too sandy/rocky to put steaks in the ground. That's fine in its own right I just wish that was more clear in the posting. On a positive note: it's a great location, it's fairly quite at night and the hosts are very nice and helpful.

Sweet surprise
Great place as described. Good communication. Other couple full timing on the site were friendly and helpful. Easy in and out. Flat- just chucked my wheels and dropped my stabilizers and was set up. Quiet and pretty rural setting in a neighborhood.

Fine if you have no other choice
This place served the purpose of being somewhere to park overnight. A) The description is misleading and B) the hosts made zero effort to make the location tidy and welcoming. A) "quiet country setting" you can see and hear the highway from the site. "360 degree views of mountains, red rock cliffs, and volcanoes" Also, you can see all the debris piles on the property. "St. George is a short 5 minute drive" That's to the very edge of town; it's more like 15 minutes to get into town. "a peaceful country feel" It's more of a quiet, suburban neighborhood. All that said, it felt safe to be parked here for the night. B) Using the Google Maps link from Hipcamp, you will be directed with street numbers but the signs have street names. It's confusing so pay attention to the distances so you don't get lost. Once we arrived, we were not sure we were at the right place; the house numbers are hard to see and if you come at night, there was no light on them. We texted upon arrival to confirm we were in the right backyard and did not hear back immediately from the owners; they appeared to not be there. Thankfully, the tenant in the RV in the yard came out and introduced herself and she was very nice. She confirmed it was the right place. So, it was fine as we had very limited options as this part of Utah is slammed with tourists right now. I am hesitant to recommend it without sharing the above information.
