The site was in a beautiful and secluded location. It offered the picnic table, fire ring and shade covering as advertised. The shower was out of order, but otherwise it was a pleasant experience.

Site 1 - Chiefs Campsite

1. Our reserved site was occupied by someone else, and we’re unable to access it. 2. There ‘s no host available to assist us, and our calls and texts are went unanswered. 3. We’re in a remote area with limited signal, making communication difficult. 4. There’re multiple unleashed dogs roaming the property, which is making it unsafe for us to walk around or even stay at the campsite.

Great spot, beautifull views on monument valley . Very primitif, as we expected, and a bit hard to find from the highway ( took a while before we found the right dirtroad) . But on of the best locations we had on our trip

Simple, basic, but views are to die for as you are almost in the park. Krissie was awesome. Pack it in pack it out. Shower and a rustic outhouse for those wanting a wee step up from dispersed camping

Site 1 - Chiefs Campsite

It was a bit rustic but I like rustic. Not knowing where I was booking geographically I arrived at the gateway of Monument Valley where the energy is high and strong. My wife and absolutely loved how it felt and the view was spectacular.

Great place to stay. The owner came and told us about hikes in the area and other places to explore. Quiet and beautiful. Sunsets and stars in the sky. We will definitely come back.

terrible experience with this host

It was a bad experience. We traveled in December, The listing says there is hot shower available on the site which was the main reason we booked it as we really need the shower, but we were told the shower is not working when we arrived, it was late at night and we had to rush to find another place, we contacted the host who was not onsite and she didn’t even know the shower situation, and she said she will refund me, but I still haven’t received it and she is unresponsive to my message.

Beautiful Views & Wonderful Host

This was my favorite camping spot by far. The views were amazing and it was so close to the iconic spots in Monumument Valley. Krissie and her family were so wonderful and accommodating. Our dog actually wandered away and we couldn’t find him, so her entire family was out helping until we found him. We are so grateful for Krissie and will definitely be back. Highly recommend this spot 🙌🏼

I loved camping here! So beautiful! I woke up to sunrise over monument valley and it simply took my breath away. Rustig camp, but great fire pit, and permanent awnings/ overhanging roofs by the campsites with wind break and nice picnic tables. Friendly and helpful host. Plenty of space.

Great Views for a Brief Stay

Overall a decent place to crash for one night. You are very close to a home and the other sites, and some of the views are obstructed by fencing around the property. Outhouse is as primitive/basic as I’ve seen (hole in the ground) but works well enough. Bring your own TP, there was none when I went.

Overall we had a good experience, and the shower is something to be appreciated. However it was impossible to get the WiFi password and, with that price for a tent campsite, everything should be perfect.

Rarely seen such filthy third world level toilets, even on hiking trail it’s more hygienic, for an outrageous price; no answer from the host upon complaint… total ripoff

We arrived late, at night, and struggled a little bit to find the camp. But once arrived, it was as expected and conform to the presentation. Nice host. Just a little bit to much midges due to our headlights during the tent installation.

Purtroppo pur avendo prenotato e pagato non siamo riusciti a raggiungere il campeggio perché le indicazioni non erano corrette. Abbiamo inserito l' indirizzo fornito nella mail nel navigatore ma le indicazioni ci portavano ad una fattoria privata. Siamo arrivati tardi per colpa di un guasto al camper e pur avendo avvisato in tempo non siamo riusciti ad avere supporto per raggiungere il campeggio. Abbiamo dovuto dormire in un parcheggio.

Nice little campground. Very basic. Krissie was nice and helpful. Top spot close to Monument Valley, we did a small walk in the morning on a unmarked trail in to the Monument Valley and watched the sunrise - awesome!

Beautiful area Problematic “toilet”

Pros: The area was magnificent. You are right in the middle of beautiful stone formations, entering the farm right before the park entrance. The square shade structure was key. I hung my hammock over the picnic table under it, and spent a very peaceful afternoon. The free roaming horses (and a foal!) were magical. There was plenty of red dirt trail to take walks and do photography. Sunrise and sunset were lovely. Cons The signage leaves a LOT to be desired. There are 2 signs after you turn off the paved road, and then you are just… lost with no direction whatsoever. You see signs for other camps, but not this one. The outhouse is straight out of a horror movie. The open hole is extends IN FRONT of the door, with full view of the contents below., which you have to step over to enter. The seat looks like its never been cleaned once. Utterly revolting. I would not touch it. And due to the hole in front of the outhouse everything below is illuminated in full daylight. The wind is strong, yet there is literally no way to keep the door closed unless you hold it by the window-hole while you hover…. And if you let it go, it flies completely open, slamming all the way to the opposite wall. Pro-tip: Have strong thigh muscles! For some reason there is barbed wire extending from the top of the door for no reason I could possibly comprehend, adding to the horror-movie effect. If you arrive prepared for no toilet whatsoever, you will not be disappointed.

The views right next to Monument Valley were beautiful. The host was very friendly as well. We loved hanging out here at this site! Sites are fairly close together, but still more dispersed than a typical campground. Very little shade is available, except by the picnic tables. We encountered A LOT of wind the first night. The site could be improved by putting more wind-damping tents/materials around the picnic tables.

The campsite was clean and well organized. I was able to set up shop right away and the host even came by to make sure I had everything I needed later that evening. She was a great resource at finding the best spot for a sunrise and took the time to chat about her culture which I was very much interested to learn more about.
