Come for the day. Stay for the stars!!! Bring yourself, your family and your friends too experience what our family has been sharing together for the last four generations. Sit underneath our giant 600+ year old Live Oaks and imagine all the settlers and Native Americans who stopped in the shade here along the banks of The Colorado River. We have 140 acres of land to explore. Old pecan orchards, cattle pens, open fields, giant trees and half a mile of the Colorado River to access. While visiting you can expect to see and experience native flora and wildlife. Don't forget your binoculars! People enjoy flying kites, picnicking, camping, hiking, nature study, radio controlled devices, rock hounding (surface hunting only, no digging allowed), fishing, kayaking, swimming or wading in the water( depth of water varies and may drop off without warning, rocks are also underwater and not visible at all times), observing ranch work, riding bicycles or hoverboards, feeding our cattle and goats (only our special "cookies" or approved foods please), walking their leashed pets, collecting firewood to burn, sitting around our communal fire pit and stargazing while checking out the visible Milky Way. Escanaba Bend is a fully operating and working cattle ranch. We raise our livestock kindly from birth thru end of life, with the goal of producing happy, healthy and natural beef cattle. We are sure you'll find something here that'll make your heart smile. We look forward to hosting and meeting you soon! -Sara and Family For our visitors we offer: *Check in 10am Check out 4pm *clean and sanitized porta potties *a potable water station *dispersed camping within designated areas * internet availability within specific area * picnic table *large fire pit * toilet paper for purchase ( not provided otherwise) * special "cookies" for purchase by the bucket to feed the cows and goats For our visitors we ask that you acknowledge and abide: * nothing goes into the porta potty except human waste ( this keeps them functioning properly and clean) * respect all our penned and free roaming livestock and farm pets *all of YOUR pets, on leash, at all times *clean up all waste/droppings from your pets *pack in- pack out (what you bring in you must take out with you when you leave *NO personal/ composting toilets. use only the porta potties provided by us. *all river, tank, water use is at your own risk including but not limited to, swimming, kayaking, wading, floating, fishing... * surface hunting for rocks only ( NO DIGGING ALLOWED EVER ) *by TX state law you should obtain a fishing license for any public or private waterways to fish, except where legal to fish without one in TX State Parks. *there are venomous snakes, bees, ants and poisonous plants as well as other critters that are native to the area **UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), A FARM ANIMAL PROFESSIONAL OR FARM OWNER OR LESSEE IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN FARM ANIMAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING AN EMPLOYEE OR INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF FARM ANIMAL ACTIVITIES. **UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 75A, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), AN AGRITOURISM ENTITY IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY TO OR DEATH OF AN AGRITOURISM PARTICIPANT RESULTING FROM AN AGRITOURISM ACTIVITY. ***update per the San Saba County Sheriffs Office- "To better mitigate safety concerns during the upcoming Solar Eclipse, SAN SABA County will be implementing a burn ban that will be in effect from April 6-9. We really enjoyed two nights camping on Sara's land. The farm animals, open space, and beautiful night skies were a hit with the kiddos, there's plenty of space between sites, the people of the farm are very friendly. Thanks for hosting Sara!

Bucolic Adventure
I loved tent camping on Sara's land. It exemplifies the word "bucolic" in every sense: rolling green pastures, farm animals, starry nights, little to no noise beyond the occasional cow moo. We stayed underneath a huge old oak tree with a lot of shade, not far from the Porta-Potty. There is access to water, and wi-fi if you can figure out the password. Sara is very accommodating, and lives on site to see to your needs. Although we chose to set up in a pasture, there are also other sites to choose from. Also, we were within 15 miles or so to 2 small town, both of which had all the amenities of civilization.

This campsite was absolutely wonderful. It was easy to find, the views were breathtaking, and the hosts were great! Such a private place not too far from the state park and town. Definitely recommend and would love to return!
