Camping at Sarah's place near Memphis has a lot going for it. The site is known for its convenient location, being close to the highway and not too far from downtown Memphis, which travelers find handy. Most campers appreciate the private, safe, and gated environment, complete with thoughtful amenities like a fire pit, firewood, and hanging lights to enhance the camping experience. However, some guests have pointed out the presence of nearby landscaping business noise in the morning, and the occasional disturbances from road noise and nearby activities, which might not be ideal for those seeking total tranquility.
The owners were great, I needed to change sites due to me pulling a trailer and they were very accommodating. The site was clean and well kept, a fire pit was available with fire wood and there was power if needed. Overall, great experience.
This was a cool spot to be IN Memphis yet feel like you're not. We needed a pretty last minute spot, a common theme of our 2.5wk multi-state camping roadtrip, and this one worked out perfectly. The fire pit and hanging lights were a nice bonus to make what turned out to be our last night of camping particularly relaxing.
The site is ok for a night but the wake up was not the best with a loader filling pickup trucks with stuff about 40 feet from our spot. With the rear alarm sound and motor sound, it is not ideal.
Convenient location just outside of Memphis. The site was spacious, tidy, and easy to maneuver with truck and trailer. We appreciated Sarah’s clear directions and instructions. Would definitely go back again if our travels take us that way!
My wife and I were there on a weekend and it was great. Very quiet and surroundings were beautiful in the AM. Only 20 or so minutes from Beale Street. Felt very safe.
I felt very safe and comfortable, knowing that I was in a fully enclosed and locked property. Sarah was considerate enough to leave a fire pit and firewood and she has cute little lights strung up around the fire pit. There is a port-a-potty available for use and a dumpster for your trash when you leave. It’s a great spot. Quiet and peaceful, and I had a nice night of good rest.
Good communication overall but this really shouldn’t be a hip camp spot. They run a landscape business next to the spot so expect your sleep to be interrupted early in the morning while workers arrive and leave near your rv camp spot. It’s not the workers fault, you can tell they try to drive in quiet and slow. Pretty expensive for what you are getting as well. Maybe 20 or 25 a night and if the business were closed for weekend it would be ok. We wished we would have gone to an RV park instead.
We arrived later at night and Sarah maintained consistent and supportive communication throughout our stay. Memphis is a fun town with delicious food, and this location was close to the highway which provided easy access to local venues. The yard was private, quiet, and peaceful.
This gated location is very private and safe. Campsite #1 felt a bit cluttered though because of the piles of landscaping materials surrounding the RV area (the host runs a landscaping company from that location). It worked great as a safe place to stay within Memphis but I would not recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet and scenic getaway.
We had a nice stay at Sarah’s. The price is a little steep for what you get. Although, they have an outlet to charge things, a clean portapotty and an ice machine. It had just rained, so the ground was very soft and muddy but we still found a spot to set up the tent. The firewood and pit were still wet so we skipped the fire for the night. Judging from the pictures, I thought we would have a little more privacy but it was okay. We never met Sarah but she was quick to respond to messages.
This Hipcamp site is the perfect spot if you are planning a trip to Memphis. Our host Sarah was easy to communicate with and answered any question we had. It has easy access to and from the highway yet you are tucked away by a woods with very little traffic noise. Padlocked gate for security, water, fire pit, picnic table, power and lights. A definite return if we are back in the Memphis area.
The space was clean and efficient. We stayed on a weekend so there was no landscaping noise. There also wasn’t much road noise either so we slept well. Great yard for doggos. Definitely recommend
Great set up! They have a nice size area and it’s maintained very well. We stayed there for a couple nights while we were passing through the area, and it was close enough to downtown that we got to explore without staying right in the heart of the city. The downside I had was that you’re camping right next to an empty shopping center building. They built a nice tall privacy fence but it did still make me feel own alert while staying here. The property is also a landscaping company but we hardly heard them in the mornings when they came in for their work trucks!
This property was not safe. On arriving, the campsite was really cute and the property pretty, spacious and inviting. Sarah was friendly, communicative and everything was clear. We got there around 4 and almost immediately heard shots in the distance. Lots of them. They continued on and off for hours. Then sirens. At 9 we had someone walk through the campsite while we were in the trailer and when I said hello through the window there was no response. I texted Sarah to see if it had been someone from the house and she thought maybe it had been a guest who was staying there. A bit after midnight, 7 shots rang out literally on the other side of the fence where we were parked. I heard 3-4 people talking and running. The fence does not surround the whole property and on the other side was an entire complex of vacated buildings( we saw upon leaving)Sirens followed. We didn’t sleep. It’s on me that I didn’t research to find out that Memphis is overwhelmed with violent crime. In the reviews there was no mention of any incidents such as this, but the whole area shows up dark orange/red on the crime map. Again it was a nice space, but I would feel dishonest if I didn’t relay this experience. I’ve been to many hip camps, travelled far and wide and not experienced as un safe a feeling as this. We would have left if we had somewhere else to go in the middle of the night but we were driving through.
This campsite was awesome! Despite being in the middle of Memphis, it was very quiet, secluded, and safe. The space was clean, level, and large enough for our rooftop tent. The price point is perfect for what you're getting. I would for sure stay here again if I'm ever in the area.
Private and secure site as the lot is closed by a locked gate and has a high fence. Although a few planted trees, we were very close to a landscaping yard (landscaping is their day to day business). The camping site has no water nor electrical 30 amps. It was way too hot 🥵 to stay without our air conditioning. The hosts were nice but could not provide for a refund😣
Awesome shade. Great option to be close to downtown Memphis. Lots of bugs and mosquitos, bring spray. Some city/road noise is normal. We were woken at midnight by some works nearby, lasted 10-15 minutes but we were wide awake. Lots of grass, it’s maintained and mowed. Fire pit, wood and ice available. You’ll have to haul water and your carload across the field. Owners were low key, never saw them. No complaints.
