Camping in the woods in Ocoee

Mitchell was friendly and accommodating! The campsite was clean and a haven of wooded-pines. This is a great, accessible site near the Ocoee that we’d love to go back to!

We didn't end up staying. Was not what we were expecting at all. The camping area is right next to a busy and loud road and in very close proximity to a residential house. There also appeared to be some people living out of their cars on the property. Doesn't seem like it would be a fun or relaxing camping experience. If you just need somewhere to pull over and crash for the night would be fine for that. The hosts did give us a refund since we didn't stay.

Great Ocoee Tenn. stay!

Enjoyed our stay on Mitchell and Macey’s property. Mitchell greeted us when we arrived and was in contact with us before arrival to make sure we made it safely to our site. We were able to purchase fresh eggs and local meat while there. Of note, if have a larger rig , enter location from North side via Highway 64. Also make sure to look for mailbox with address that turns into driveway onto property. Mitchell was a great host to communicate with and enjoyed learning about his property and the surrounding area and places to visit. Highly recommend!

We stayed one night on a short road trip. It was nice, but definitely not what I was expecting. It was a lot smaller and there wasn’t as much privacy as I thought there would be. But the hosts were amazing! They lent us chair when we forgot ours.

Camper Van/Car Camping Site #1

The views in the area were beautiful. It's a quiet site. Easy to pull into. Mitchell and Macey were easy nice hosts to deal with. The gave us some great recommendations to go out and explore areas around us. It's In a safe area and has a nice gravel pad with a fire pit with wood on site to purchase. It's very peaceful but you can go grab groceries about 5 minutes away. We enjoyed the site and loved the kindness of the community.

I loved camping at the farm. The hosts were welcoming and excellent communicators. The site was very easy to find and in close proximity to all activities I had in store for the weekend. I would stay here again in the future. Thank you!

We were immediately greeted by Mitchell their sweet dog Aspen. It’s in progress and will surely be a spectacular place. They left out firewood for us, but we didn’t use it. The road in is absolutely lovely. Was a very quiet night!

Quiet camping close to the Ocoee

We arrived just before 10pm, directions we're easy to follow and only a quick trip off the hwy. Our campsite was perfectly level and a breeze to find once we reached the farm. Mitchell was super hospitable and had a great property. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return on our next trip to paddle the Ocoee.

Mitchell was very accommodating with getting everything set-up and making sure we had everything we needed. His dog was very friendly and enjoyed touring the property with us. Great stay and very close to so many beautiful spots in the area.

Great, perfectly level site. They are making improvements so the surrounding area will only get better (it rained so there was mud everywhere our dog wanted to go). Very responsive, we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay again!

Great environment! The owners were very helpful and friendly. They were willing to make recommendations of local things to do and go to and we’re always close by as they are currently staying on the property in a 5th wheel camper themselves. My only complaint is that they created a site for me to out my tent which was spacious but all dirt and there was some poison ivy in the site as well so I didn’t hang my hammock or anything. However, it did not matter too much as I spent most of my time away from the camp. Their dog, Aspen, was very friendly as well. Mitchell, the host, even allowed me to run an extension cord across the driveway to power a fan as it was in the mid-90s. He even lended me one of his as mine was slightly too short to make it all the way!

Absolutely beautiful piece of property that was well thought out and the host was definitely one of the friendliest and most helpful people I have met in a long time. We got there around 9:30pm and they met us there with a moments notice and helped us get the camper in place and showed us how to operate everything (we have never owned a camper nor set it up before) very friendly and we will definitely be back again.

The photos look amazing. Rivers, water falls, lakes, pic nick tables, big stars and sky but the actual site doesn't have any of those things. The gravel site is next to a work shed. There's nothing beautiful about it.

Hidden gem in Ocoee TN-don't miss!

We revisited the Farm on Federal after a little less than a year, and our visit was just as great as the first! This time we are in our new teardrop camper Cutie. Our campsite was clean and level. Nevin loved the firepit with plentiful wood to burn! Completely private and serene and we spent a very restful night. Fun times were had hiking in the woods and also down by the creek with Mitchell and his son Jasper. Macie was her beautiful, welcoming self. Their dog Aspen is a love. Enjoyed the sheep and chickens and especially the crazy delicious eggs! The Farm is reasonably close to I-75 for easy north-south travel. Ocoee is a very interesting place, with lots of white-water rafting and watersport opportunities. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Mitchell and Macey are clearly in the process of creating more spaces at their HipCamp. I really want to come back when they're done (or farther along) because it looks so cool and has such promise! They put us at the new location and it's among these tall, tall trees...felt like mountain camping! We loved, loved, loved it! And I'm sure they aren't going to make any promises (or maybe they will), but there were no bugs. At all. Their communication with us was impeccable leading up to the reservation, during the reservation, and then even goodbyes and thank yous after the reservation. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I will absolutely be coming back…wonderful hosts and incredibly accommodating. I solo camp frequently and it’s always nice to feel safe where you are camping. Beautiful property, and I can’t say enough about how friendly the hosts were. 100% recommend!

Fresh eggs & seeing Aspin in TN!

What a great experience. This was the first time my family did camping at a site with no running water and no electricity access. It really was a great experience. A little colder at night than I’d prefer, but we made it through and had a great time. We felt safe and secure being close to their 2 fenced in dogs and their one dog, Aspin, that roams the property. If having access to fresh farm eggs doesn’t have you wanting to go back, then for sure the bond you build with Aspin, will do it. The kids hated leaving her. She was super friendly and kept us company around the campfire. The area offered plenty of space and lots of drift wood for burning (although we still bought a few bundles). Trees are close together enough if you have a hammock to hang or if you want to create a make shift net for badminton. Driveway is long and you can pull right up to the campsite, given you are in the right type of vehicle. (One area kind of dips down a bit). We decided to go hiking our second day. Benton falls was very close driving distance and efferent great views and really great exercise. Wish we would have left earlier and packed a little lunch to eat when we got to the falls. For those who are not big on hiking— the hike, one way a mile and a half. There’s a lot of stairs leading down to the falls which can be slick so make sure you take good shoes. But overall it really is an easy hike. There are gas stations close by and all of them sell the essentials. Thank you Mitchell and Macey!

“Ruff” night

The hosts communicated well and even left us some fresh eggs in the morning. The site was also close to several parks and hikes which was nice. However, the site was not as private as we expected as you could see both the host’s house and the neighboring house. Their dogs + other dogs nearby also barked all night (roughly 9-8) both nights.
