Welcome to our little slice of Tennessee paradise on the beautiful Cumberland River, just east of Nashville—less than an hour away, yet it feels worlds apart. Our 10-acre property features approximately 400 feet of Cumberland River frontage, with beautiful water views, sandy beach areas, open grassy fields, pastures, and peaceful countryside sunsets. Whether you want to relax by the river, enjoy nature, or experience farm life, Big River Camp is the perfect getaway. We moved here to enjoy open space, rolling hills, river life, and lots of animals—and created a peaceful homestead we lovingly call our “Little Zoo.” If you’re interested in our optional farm tour, you’ll get to meet plenty of friendly animals during your stay and even try milking our goats while learning how we make yogurt, cottage cheese, and homemade cheese. Our little zoo includes: • 3 horses and a donkey • goats and sheep • chickens, ducks, turkeys, and geese • peacocks • barn cats • and our sweet farm dogs, who help protect our livestock and poultry All of our animals are friendly, social, and used to people. They’re part of the family and one of the things guests love most about staying here. Spend your days relaxing by the beach, fishing, swimming, enjoying campfires, or exploring nearby hiking trails, parks, and small-town Tennessee adventures. At night, enjoy peaceful skies, nature sounds, and the calm of riverside camping. This campsite is exactly as advertised. It is a working farm, with roosters that serenade campers in the wee hours, and geese that share the beach with you and smiling dogs that bark. If you don’t mind a little extra animal noises, the Sandy Beach 1 campsite is a nice little shady spot near the water. I didn’t realize how close the second campsite would be to us, so it didn’t feel as remote as I would have preferred. The outhouse is clean and nice, (the addition of hand sanitizer would be appreciated), but bring a flashlight during the day as the light only works at night. It is very dark and hot during the day. All in all, if you’re looking for semi remote campsite on a working farm, with great River access, this is it! If you want more remote and have the time- go backpacking. If you want more amenities like water, electricity, and showers, book a traditional camp ground. It really just depends on what you’re looking for. Highly suggest going to Rokabilly Coffee Shop in Carthage just a few miles away for breakfast!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at Big Rivers Land Camping! The hosts were incredibly friendly, responsive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The campsite was spacious and just a short walk to the water, which was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The property is absolutely beautiful, and we loved hearing the farm animals throughout our stay—it made the experience feel so peaceful and unique. The hosts even invited us to meet the animals, and they showed us how to milk a goat! It was such a fun and memorable experience. They also have a huge covered sand play area, which ended up being perfect when it rained a couple of times. It gave everyone a place to keep playing and enjoying the outdoors despite the weather. If you’re looking for a relaxing camping spot with beautiful scenery, welcoming hosts, fun farm experiences, and family-friendly amenities, I highly recommend Big Rivers Land Camping. We can’t wait to come back!

I found heaven. Wasn't expecting it to be as wonderful as it was. Exactly what the doctor ordered and I'll be back again, for sure. Between the views, the water access, the friendly hosts, the animals and the peace and quiet, it was as close to heaven as I've found in recent times. Thank you so much.

Amazing place along the Cumberland. Literally zero complaints. We spent a lovely afternoon, evening and morning here. Lots of nice bird watching if that's your thing. Big fan of Maya, as well. I suspect we'll return and bring our kayak this time.

This site far exceeded our wildest expectations. The riverfront access was beautiful & super private. All the animals on the property were extremely friendly. And the hosts went above and beyond with access to their mobile sauna and showing us how to milk goats! We’re already planning on coming back it was so perfect. Thank you Anastasia and Jared!
