Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
Welcome to Herd and Harvest Farm, hosted by Sarah and Jim! We are located in Kapunda, the doorstop to the Barossa Valley. Here, you will experience the rural farm feel with the conveniently located township nearby, the best of both worlds! Visit our furry friends, we have bunnies, chooks, peacocks, calves, sheep and alpacas. "Feed the animals" can be organised with me at a time convenient for us both. Please note, we do not offer toilet facilities, so you must be self-contained, with your own camp toilet, and take all waste with you when you go. * no digging holes please * Please check out our sites - we plant crop on our land between July and December so please stick to the paths and driveways. Outside of those times, camping can be accesses on those paddocks. Here you will find an open space with views of the rolling paddocks, we are in the process of developing an orchard, veggie garden and several animal homes. Lots of cool things are coming to fruition. Why not come and experience the magic of Herd and Harvest Farm, we can’t wait to host you! Hills view (by the Quarry)
Hills view. Good spot, but...
Nice views from the Hill with 2 flat sections, one higher up that has more shade and the other lower down with less shade. I picked the upper section for better shade. However, after I settled in, I noticed there was hard waste dotted throughout the site. Broken glass (a mirror?) a very old flattened rusted can with sharp edges, various bits of plastic, metal cylinders (I tripped on a large rusted one hiding in the dirt) as if the fill to create the flat spot contained old foreign material. Disappointed this hadn't been flagged by fellow campers or inspected and removed by the owners. The lower level seemed to be OK but I didn't really look too hard. If the site was clean of foreign material, I'd give it 5 stars.

great sunset view.
We loved the view over the orchard, sunset is a must seen. Everything went great, Sarah's instructions for direction to camping spots were very clear and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to visit the animals at the farm since we were in a hurry in the morning. Definitely recommend the place for couples or families.

Great views and lots of animals
Enjoyed our stay here with fantastic views over the paddocks (especially in the afternoon light and for sunset). Sarah & Jim were super friendly and we really loved our tour of the animals! With it being on 20mins from Barossa Valley, it’s a great base to explore.

A beautiful spot just outside Kapunda, overlooking the rolling hills. Our hosts were absolutely lovely and great with the kids when we fed the animals. We stayed at the Orchard View (late cancellation) which we felt was better for our kids, flat open spaces and neighbours with the sheep. Would recommend and return in the future.

Phenomenal family getaway
Cannot recommend staying here highly enough. Sarah and Jim were so accommodating, they are truly great hosts. Feeding the animals was a highlight - and don’t forget to take a few dollars for some farm fresh eggs too! We will be back for sure.

Super beautiful spot, just a stones throw away from the Barossa. Sarah was lovely. 10/10 would stay here again.
