We have a small acreage property (2.5 acres) located in a generally quiet rural community area. We are nature lovers and encourage wild birds, possums and other native animals. Curra actually means Possum in the indigenous language! We have 2 elderly retired horses that love to be fed carrots and have a pat. Curra is only 40 mins from Noosa and Tin Can Bay. Rainbow beach is approx 60 mins drive. Maryborough and Hervey Bay are around 50-65 mins drive. Explore some great historical museums around Gympie and consider a trip on the Mary Valley Rattler. A lovingly restored steam train which takes you through beautiful countryside eventually arriving at Amamoor where you can enjoy lunch or coffee. Experience all the beautiful birdlife that frequent our property. Each afternoon we feed the lorikeets , galahs, king parrots and any other birds that decide to drop in! We feed our resident possums each night. If you are lucky you may get to see a baby hitching a ride on its mums back! It is our pleasure to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We can advise on local attractions and day tours also. Please ask if you have special requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Maxwell Place Camping
Quiet, friendly and relaxing stay.
Our host, Carolyn could not have been more helpful or obliging. Her campsite was lovely and especially quiet, with only two sites available in total. Carolyn is lovely, and was so gracious and friendly as a host, we would happily return for a longer stay. Curra is a bit remote from the busy centres of the Sunshine Coast, but it is exactly what we wanted. Don't go there if you want to race your unmuffled motorbikes, amplified ski boats, or if you want to party loudly into the night tightly compressed in narrow sites with other campers. This is the kind of place for people who want a calm, friendly and relaxing stay.
