Absolute beauty and solitude
This property is absolutely stellar for secluded camping. We encountered nary a soul unless we went into town. Our neighbors consisted or a rather crotchety pair of birds who were caring for newborns (no judgement…been there!) in the tree near where we parked our camper.
The view of the mountains paired with the sunsets, moon rises, and sunrises made for a seriously dreamy venue for reflection, meditation, or, as in our case, recuperation.
We were there in mid July so it was pretty darn hot and although there are rivers all over, unless you love to rappel or have a river rafting date planned, the water is not easily accessible save for a rather steep trek at the local falls. Our mildewy coastal selves made due with a few hours of AC during the hottest part of the day but also found that a hammock made the most of the breezes as well.
We brought our two dogs and though we had heard there was a neighbor dog that likes to visit, we saw no other animals though we did hear coyotes in the early morning. The dogs enjoyed the freedom though I would caution that you check them for grass seed and “foxtails” regularly during the summer, at least.
Neal was readily available by text for any concerns or questions (we had none, just wanted to swoon over the sunsets with someone who “got it”)
Neal was upfront about there being other vehicles currently on the property that he is working at having removed. Other than occupying a rather shady spot, they detract not a bit from the view
