Ruah Ranch is situated on an old donation land claim and was also the site of nomadic Native American tribes. Abundant wildlife graces our acres as well as the beautiful Thoroughbred horses we raise. You'll likely be serenaded by coyotes in the evenings and may catch sight of them during the day. Three different species of raptors frequent the skies above the ranch and beavers have established outposts along the stream.
Beautiful thoroughbred horses will greet you every morning from their nearby pasture while you enjoy your coffee in the shade of the trellised Wisteria. Silver Falls State Park is a short drive away where you can enjoy hiking and biking and even guided horseback rides. The Oregon Gardens are just a bit further north on the outskirts of Silverton and many wineries dot the landscape all around.
If you like horses we’ll be happy to give you a tour of the ranch and introduce you to the resident equines, many of which have horse racing royalty up close in their lineage.

Ruah Ranch offers a charming and peaceful camping experience, perfect for those seeking tranquility and a connection with nature. The ranch's scenic views, access to friendly animals, and proximity to Silver Falls State Park make it an appealing option for campers. Guests appreciate the hospitality of the hosts, Connie and Lee, who provide a welcoming atmosphere. However, campers should be aware of the rustic amenities, like the absence of showers and refrigerators, and the presence of flies due to the working nature of the ranch.
A great nights stay! For us, the site was perfect- having a flushing toilet, a microwave, wifi (although it didn’t work well where we stayed- site 3) as well as a firepit and a flat place to park was perfect! We thought the horses were beautiful and the hosts were super friendly and nice. Overall if you want perfect silence and privacy, this isn’t your site. But if you want a place to land that is casual and has basic amenities than you’re in the right place!
I loved the Ruah Ranch! I stayed here with a couple friends for just one night, before heading to a trail race at Silver Falls. SFs is only a 15 minute drive up the road, so the location is great. I was so tired when I arrived that I took a 2 hour nap in my tent with the rainfly off, and it was extremely peaceful--even with the hosts doing their daily chores nearby. It was so fun to stay near the horses and be around the animals. I felt very taken care of by the responsive hosts and would stay again if I needed a quick overnight in the area. |
One note is there is no shower or refrigerator for guest use.
Very nice stay! Level travel trailer spot
Easy to find on Google maps
I like the later check out ( b4 noon)
Super close to Silver Falls State Park and man the Ranch is cool to look at!
I will 100% go back again!
Always nice to have a private bathroom!
This was our second stay at Ruah Ranch and we are already planning another return visit. Wonderful site with pastoral and far views. Located close to Silver Fall State Park (and the famous Trail of 10 Falls), the town of Silverton (voted one of Oregon's best small towns), The Oregon Gardens and more...there is plenty to see and do which is why we returned and will keep returning. GREAT hosts! Willing to share about the past, present and future of this ranch and the surrounding area. They care about their guest experience (we had a snag with our RV and they were quick to offer assistance). They also host a beautiful apartment for those not glamping (we plan to use it for an upcoming family trip). We love this Hipcamp!!
Safe and flat spot to rest and explore the area. Great to have RV hook-ups and hear the horses whinnying in the evening.
As to be expected there are lots of flies, and the landscaping is neglected (my impression is it’s a working ranch and creating charm for campers is low on the list), but having a propane fire available was a big bonus.
There is a bathroom and sink tucked in the large barn.
We loved camping on Connie's ranch! It was so cool to be near the horses and also be around all their lovely animals (chickens, dog, and cats)! The space was very nice and the access to the bathroom was super convenient! We will definitely be back!
Lovely time at Ruah. Beautiful property and horses. Real bathroom, coffee in the morning and fresh eggs for 5 dollars a dozen! Couldn’t ask for more. Easy check in and check out. Very welcoming and smooth. Will be back.
We were glad to meet Lee. He walked us around for a bit and we learned a few things about the operations of a thoroughbred horse ranch. Nice quiet place and fun to check out the horses while they checked us out.
We really enjoyed camping at Ruah Ranch. Connie was very hospitable and it was fun to see the high spirited Thoroughbred horses running and playing. We did not meet the friend corgi but a long-haired very friendly at kept us company! Nice electrical hook up was appreciated as was the restroom and sink. Great location near Silver Falls State Park.
The property is gorgeous and Connie was helpful and kind all the way through! My dog and I enjoyed walking the roads and looking at the horses. Highly recommend!
Fine for RVs and campers, not good for tents. Lots of pesky flies and yellow jackets. Gravel and rocks, not grass under tent. No shade. Other camp site too close, across a driveway, no privacy. Hosts very friendly. Nice to have bathroom access
My kids and I enjoyed camping on the ranch.
The hosts were very friendly and showed us around and told us a bit about their beautiful race horses. The spot was very convenient to visit Silver Falls and having a sink and bathroom available was great! Would definitely recommend
This was a great Hipcamp experience for us. We loved that the horses were so close, the beautiful sunsets from the hilltop view, visits from Chloe the Corgi and the hospitality of Lee and Connie. Golf and hiking was close by and the towns were easy access.
We had a great stay at Ruah Ranch. It was so peaceful at night watching the horses graze and the various wild birds fly. The spot was maintained and clean with the exception of some dog messes that weren’t cleaned up. We would stay again and recommend to others.
So fun to stay on a thoroughbred horse ranch! So many horses I really loved my experience and was close to Silver Falls. The hosts were super hospitable. I’d definitely visit again or the air bnb suite they also host, such a unique experience. Thank you!
