Welcome to Grit and Timber Basecamp a traditional, self-reliant outpost tucked into five acres of Central Oregon pines and ponderosas. Designed exclusively for adults, this is a quiet sanctuary for those who appreciate American heritage, independence, and the rugged beauty of the wild.The Vibe: Cozy, heritage-cabin feel with rugged red flannel decor. We live on-site, but your front door faces away from our home and directly toward the trees, guaranteeing absolute privacy and unobstructed forest views. The Amenities: While the unit does not have air conditioning, our location offers wonderfully cool summer nights. We provide fans to keep the air moving and comfortable during the day. By evening, simply open the windows to let the crisp, refreshing breeze cool the space naturally! Basecamp features solar panels to help us stay energy-efficient! Please note that we are fully connected to the main power grid, so you will enjoy reliable, uninterrupted electricity and standard power throughout your stay. Your unit is Equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi extended to the unit. You can expect steady speeds around 70/15 Mbps, which easily handles standard streaming, web browsing, and remote work. The bathroom features a modern, eco-friendly composting toilet. If you haven't used one before, don't worry! It is completely odor-free, exceptionally clean, and very simple to use. We provide clear, easy-to-follow instructions in the unit so you'll feel totally comfortable during your stay. Propane/electric heat/hot water, in-unit washer. The Location: 18 mins to the town of Crescent, 5 mins to Little Deschutes River, and 30 mins to Crescent Lake. Depending on time of year we are about 1 hour to the Crater lake Norths access road. The Outdoors: Private lounging area, BBQ, and unparalleled stargazing with zero light pollution. Hospitality: To welcome you, you’ll find complimentary farm-fresh eggs from our local coop and a homemade treat provided during your stay. Mind the Lines: Out here in the woods, property lines can blur quickly. Please be mindful of your surroundings. The Wild Backyard: If you are looking to stretch your legs and cover more ground, simply head out back to hundreds of acres of forest land.
