I loved tent camping on Megs land she was extremely helpful and kind host. The sounds of nature were amazing all the different bird calls. Lots of firewood to have campfires she even provided a popcorn popper for the fire which I've never tried before so that was cool. I would highly recommend camping at Megs property to anyone!!

My two dogs and I absolutely loved staying here!! It was a beautiful spot, and Meg was very accommodating! She even supplied a screened in tent for my family to have dinner in because it’s mosquito season.

Welcoming retreat near Ottawa!
Meg is a welcoming and very friendly host. She gave us lots of information on how to navigate to her property and was very welcoming to my wild young kids with Easter treats and activities for them to do as well as the run of her property with toys and a playground. She provided wood for a campfire as well as popcorn popping stuff and hot chocolate and marshmallows. She also had towels for us to wipe off the chairs and table after rain and morning dew and a water jug for us to use when it got below freezing. The composting toilet in the woods was very clean and smell free! Meg is a very conscientious host and and surprised us with a handmade keychain of our trailer when we took our leave. Such a lovely keepsake! My family loved staying at her property and will come back in a heartbeat! Thank you for having us!!

Winter camping success
This trip was amazing! First time camping in winter and we loved it. We had the kids and the place was huge with access to a play structure. The host Meg was incredible, a great host and kind person who checked in on us, provided us with everything that we forgot from hot chocolate, to pop corn, stove… we’ll definitely be back again and would recommend it to everyone 🥰

I recommend staying here!
Meg's land is beautiful and I highly recommend staying here. Meg owns 100 Acres and it's lovely.
I visited alongside my 1-year-old puppy and Tommy and we had an amazing time. Tommy was able to be off-leash from the moment we arrived.
When we pulled into the long driveway, Meg and her two chihuahua's were there to greet us.
You are able to drive 90% of the way from Meg's home toward the site and then offload your gear into a little cart that Meg provides. The walk to the site is maybe 1 minute.
The tents are in a open area surrounded by trees with a fire pit, 4 chairs and table (Meg provides cushions), tea pot, food pot, and a grate for cooking on the fire. Meg provides plenty of pre-cut wood for burning with a 'burn what you can find' mentality which is great.
Meg came and checked in a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed and she even chainsawed a tree for extra wood at the end of the day, which was a huge help.
A great place for someone looking to get away from the city without driving 1.5hrs+ from Ottawa and still having the safety and comfort of a homestead nearby incase of emergencies.
I highly recommend staying here.

I love this little hidden gem! It was peaceful. I love the little pathways to walk. We even found two snakes. Lots of stars to see too. And Meg was amazing, she was very friendly and checked on us to see if we needed anything. We only camped a night, just to get out of town. We would definitely think about good again, next year when its warmer and not end of summer holidays.

We’ll be back….it’s worth the drive
We we’re stuck trying to find a campsite near Ottawa. I only Googled campgrounds and had no luck. Changing my search to camping was when I found out about hipcamp.com
After signing up and doing a search I found Meg’s place. I read some other reviews about how helpful she was so we reached out prior to booking. After a few messages I booked her last site.
Meg was more than accommodating to our late night request. Our only other option was a way over priced hotel room in Ottawa. We so wanted to try out our new pickup truck tent and be out in the fresh air. It was so worth the drive.
Meg met us as soon as we pulled into the driveway. She walked us to a site. Showed us the facilities and provided us with plenty of information on the property. We got all setup did some beautiful stargazing with no light pollution and then we were serenaded by the local owl to sleep.
We had to leave in the morning but Meg took the time to send us off. My only regret was that we didn’t arrive sooner for some exploration and a campfire.
I look forward to seeing you in future Meg for more camping!!

Meg was amazing and really went the extra mile for our stay preparing everything for our arrival with RV locating hoses and electric. Dora and Diamond ensure a warm welcome for all. During our stay, Meg upgraded facilities adding a screenhouse and hot shower during the days as we ventured. While we were out she also made us a thoughtful gift of embroidered keychains to match the RV. So thoughtful and empathetic.
The location is great for exploring the Rideau Canal, Ottawa areas and also is convenient to mountain biking and hiking. I predict a very successful venture for Meg in this quiet and private location. Thank you sooo much!;

Staying on Meg's land was great! Access to water, wifi, power, a firepit. Meg was super friendly & knowledgeable. Forest & meadows are gorgeous, so many birds around and places to explore on the land and nearby. Definitely a place I would want to come back with friends and spend much longer!

A Perfect Place to Park
Thank goodness for Meg! She welcomed us with open arms on short notice when we needed to stop for the night with our little trailer. Upon arrival, she was all set up to hook us up to power, and even provided a water bottle and cute holder to clip on to a leash that she made herself. She turned out all the lights so we could see the incredible darkness of her property. A real stargazer’s paradise. She let us know about some walking trails we might explore in the morning and was kind enough to offer extra blankets. Communication was friendly and helpful at all times. She even helped us to back out our trailer in the morning. Our only regret was that we had to leave in the morning. Meg’s a gem and her acreage has lots of room to explore. Thanks Meg!
