Spend the night under the stars… On our quaint 12 acre river bottom tucked away behind the mountains. The campsite is on the edge of the New River, overlooking its clear waters and abundance of wildlife. Listen to the sounds of nature as you fish right off the bank. Enjoy tubing/kayaking/canoeing 5 miles to Zaloo’s or 4 miles to New River Outfitters or take a 1 mile “kid’s trip” from a secluded access to J E Gentry bridge. Our family-friendly site is an economical way to have fun and get in touch with nature. And yes! we are dog-friendly as well! We also run a working Flower Farm! We are in need of volunteers, work in exchange for a camping spot! Message us for more info Please note that cell service is very limited and WiFi is not provided. Prolonged rainy conditions in the river bottom may get muddy, so please be prepared for your stay!

Spot #9 (Tent/Rooftop/Van)
Riverfront Camping
This remote riverside campsite (#9) offers a one of a kind experience. Imagine, sitting around a campfire, relaxing in your chair and listening to nothing more than the sounds of nature and the mesmerizing flow of the river as your background music 24/7. One of the best features of this particular campground is that the river provides not only beautiful scenery, but more importantly, free activities to keep the entire family, busy and entertained. No need to get in the car and go somewhere else. With water depths of 1 foot to 4 feet, we were able to relax without worry in small swimming holes, as well as enjoy fishing, wading in the water, skipping rocks, and setting up some low profile beach chairs to keep cool while working on our tan . We actually tied our tubes up and just stayed in one spot but tubing can be booked with Zaloo’s just down the road. One of our favorite pastimes, while waiting for our resident campfire chef to finish up one of our delicious smoky campfire meals, was waving and chatting it up with tubers, kayakers, and folks in canoes floating down the river. If you are able to wake up early in the morning, you will likely catch a glimpse of a deer or other small wildlife emerging from the lifting fog. Conversely, at night, the sky seems to pull back the curtains to show off thousands of stars. Nature puts on the grandest show here at Waterdog Campground ⛺️. River shoes are a must! Nice shade tree at #9. Steep bank. No stores or gas close by.

Spot #3 (Tent/Truck/Rooftop)
This campsite was wonderful, the host and other guests were very nice and welcoming. I loved seeing tons of wildlife roaming such as deer and rabbits. The layout of the campsites provide a good level of privacy for a single party or easy access from one campsite to another for large groups that take up multiple campsites. For the campsites that don’t have easy water access there is a wonderful public access walking distance that is perfect for floating to tubing down river and getting out at your own campsite. Would recommend!

Spot #9 (Tent/Rooftop/Van)
Great place to stay!
Great spot for cheap! Beautiful views! Can go swimming in the river, but the banks are steep, be willing to crawl back up them, if you want to take a dip! Do recommend staying here and we will back again!

Spot #4 (Tent/Teardrop)
Awesome site, tucked behind some trees/shrubs. Nice little private spot on the water. Very peaceful and relaxing. Even with it raining 2 nights, listening to the birds after was so peaceful
