Rent kayaks, paddle boards or canoes, go fishing or have a romantic weekend on the beach. We’re open year-round for your vision of a family vacation paradise or a perfect honeymoon. We’re open year-round. Bring your home or stay in the comfort of our 2-bedroom Suites or beautifully renovated Motel Rooms. Most RV sites have ocean or bay views – 17 are directly on the bay water. Twelve pull-through sites directly face Cedar Island beach with fantastic views. Our RV park has 61 spaces with water plus 30- and 50-amp electric service. When the guests ask, we provide. So, we’ve got everything you need for an unequaled coastal experience right here. The Cedar Island Ferry terminal to Ocracoke Island and on to Cape Hatteras is right at our doorstep. Waterfront Back-In FHU 50ft
No truly what was expected.
Overall, the campground was atleast clean. And walking distance to beach access. The spots are very tightly fit and there are no rules/ regulating others using RVs and Tents in the same spot, which made it tricky so nothing was ran over. Very quiet area but truly secluded from the outside world. Before booking we searched for stuff to do around the island and most said “30 minute drive” but honestly it was 45 minute drive to closest Dollar General and 1 hour to closest grocery store (Food Lion), if you want to shop it was 3 hour drive one way to the Premium Outlets, which was half way back home for us. Power did go out on 2 occasions and no communication from the campground or host so we got details from google. They do offer WIFI but I was unable to use it the entire week we were there. No cell service in the area either. Camp store has very minimal supplies needed while camping so come prepared with those “just in case” items because the store won’t have it. I can say very friendly staff just not what was detailed or expressed before booking or found on search engines . Be prepared and plan ahead if staying here. Oh, and if you are wanting waterfront- you will be placed (as the one worker said “swamp area”) nothing is truly beach front access.

Simply Beautiful
Cedar Island Ranch is a wonderful place to camp. The amenities, kind and helpful staff, proximity to beach access and the ferry service to Ocracoke all add to the remote atmosphere of being located within the Cedar Island National Wildlife Refuge.

Camping, beach, and wild horses!
We loved camping at Cedar Island! The campsites were clean and the easy access to the private beach was great! Having a chance to see the wild horses while there is such a treat! The ferry that is right next the campground allows for a quick trip to Ocracoke. We can't wait to go back!

Central Back-In FHU 50ft
The 50' back in spot had plenty of room to set up the camper, picnic table with a popup 10x10 canpoy around it and a fire ring all spaced apart. The grounds were clean and the kayak launch was a nice spot to fish or just sit at night star gazing. We were there during the week and had the beaches mostly to ourselves and even packed out it was still private. There was a great sunrise on the camp side and sunset on the ferry side. Also the waves weren't huge or powerful so you had to get way out to get into deep water so little kid friendly. We rode the Ferry as passengers for $1 a person 2.25 hours to Okracoke and explored Blackbeards old stoping grounds. The island has a shuttle system that you can ride for free first out at 8 and back at 5:30 during the summer. Definitely bring everything you need for your trip because there is a general store in town with fishing gear and bait and then a Dollar General 20 minutes away. I recommend that you leave the car and bring a 4 wheeler or a 4×4 to ride on the beach on the ferry side next time I will bring my Polaris instead.
