We had a great time. This was our second visit and it’s truly a special spot. Kimberly took the time to point out local spots of interest and was very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Nice little creek side spot. Directions were easy and accurate. Host communication was fast, friendly, and helpful. We drove our campervan into the campsite without problem. I look primarily at remoteness and privacy. I would call this site not remote, as it is just off Internet 40 and less than a mile to the town of Old Fort (we went to Deb’s Diner for breakfast, it was great!). I would call this site semi-private, as the site is within line of site of the host’s house and houses on the other side of the creek, but not within earshot. The site has a really nice fire pit area with plenty of seating and a grate over the fire pit suitable for grilling. Livestock are on the property, and we were visited by an old pup in the morning. Nice tree canopy of the site. This would be fun site with children.

Such a great spot to Camp out right on a peaceful little river. We could hear it all night and the stars were great. Kim was super helpful and made us feel right at home, definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice simple place to camp and relax.

Absolutely beautiful little site here! The host extremely accommodating as well.
This site is about 25 to 30 minutes outside of Asheville. Sleeping with the sound of the creek at night was lovely, and the area had a very quiet and peaceful vibe to it. I'd recommend bringing a little bug spray with you, or some citronella to keep the bugs at bay on those humid days, but otherwise I'd say this is a perfect little home base for exploring around Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains

This is a lovely site right beside the creek.
I felt safe .
The host was welcoming and very responsive.
There was a bit of firewood to use and a string of lights.
I will definitely stay again if I'm through the area!

What a beautiful stay! My friends and I booked the trip last minute and Kimberly so graciously accepted our request…on 4th of July eve!
We got to the site late and had a beautiful time. Their open field provided us a lovely time gazing at the stars, finding constellations and enjoying the light and energy of the full moon!
We had a spot along the river, lights set up by Kimberly to lead the way, a great fire pit and fire wood all ready set up. The river lulled us to sleep!!
Note a huge deal but the chickens on the property next door were heard from the site but was NOT a dealbreaker. We even got to say hi to the neighbors horses!
Thank you Kimberly! Saved your site the next time we’re in old fort!!

We set up our table by the creek and put hammocks in the trees—we ate every meal right down by that happy peaceful little creek! It was such a retreat!

This is a beautiful spot to camp out! There's a nice open grassy area to pitch a tent or park your car. The patio area with the string lights and fire pit is great for hanging out and cooking food. A nearby creek adds a peaceful touch to scenic site. If you like stargazing, this spot is perfect with its wide open clearing just past the shaded area.
What really made this spot one of the best sites I've stayed at though was Kimberly's hospitality. She was so helpful with providing an abundance of firewood and getting a fire started when I got there. She was quick to respond to messages and overall just very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed for the weekend to mountain bike and catch up with an old friend. Perfect location for easy access to Kitsuma, Point Lookout and Gateway trails. Kimberly greeted me upon arrive and went over the camping area. The spot has a really cool stone sitting area with hanging lights, fire pit, cooking table and chairs. Catawba river just a few feet away.

This was a wonderful and well kept site to set up camp for mountain biking in the surrounding area. There’s plenty of shade to keep the area cool in the heat of summer. The stream right by the campsite is the perfect place to take a dip and cool off.

Beautiful spot to rest for the night while passing through. Could also be a great spot for a destination to the up-and-coming Old Fort area. Lots of biking and fishing. This is a rideable distance to the expansive bike trail systems on the other side of 40 plus the breweries and restaurants. Just off 40 but feels like you are in the middle of no where. Scenic and private spot down by the river. Lots of space to spread out. Very friendly hosts. Looking forward to another stay in the future.

Kimberly communicated clearly, met me when I pulled in, and made sure I was all setup for a good stay. I even met her very sweet dogs. The site was right on the river, and the sound of water running through the rocks was soothing.

The pitchin post was the perfect laid back spot we were looking for! Being right on the creek was super peaceful. There's plenty of seating so no need to bring your own camp chairs!

Such a lovely place, a delightful host and stunning views all around! Loved the horses that greeted me, the running water of the creek, and the clear open skies at night to gaze at the stars. Kimberly offered up extra firewood, came down to chat several times, offering hiking suggestions and restaurants nearby. Fully recommend for anyone looking to change up their daily routine.
