Randall is the absolutely perfect host. As soon as we let him know we were here he came down to greet us and to see if there was anything that we needed. He helped us relocate the fire pit to where we wanted it and let us know he'd be glad to help start the fire.
It's a large and level campsite right next to the stream. You can see a couple houses from here but they're all several hundred yards away. There was a perfectly fine spot for us to park our camper van.

Great spot right outside of Old Fort. Super convenient and tucked away off the road just enough to be private, but not too much of a hassle to get to. Randal was very welcoming and couldn’t have asked for more! I’ll admit I was a little nervous on crossing the bridge in my van, but all was good and already planning our next trip back!

Camp on Crooked Creek
This was the perfect spot to car camp for one night! Directions were clear and it was nice to be next to the creek. The fire pit and free wood was a huge plus! As others have mentioned, there is some traffic noise, but it died down very quickly around 8:30/9 when I was there (on a weeknight). I didn’t have any trouble sleeping.

I think this site is more appropriate for trailers or RVs, as the traffic noise is substantial for tent camping.

What an amazing past few days I had in the mountains! It did my ENC soul really good!!!!!
The space is tucked just away from the road, super spacious with a private little creek.
Randal checked on me throughout my visit. My first night he said it's not super quiet there, but I found that to be untrue. It was very peaceful and at night all the fireflies lit up the sky like a million twinkling stars.
One morning, I caught a deer in the creek getting a sip of water. I couldn't get my camera fast enough and he took off! My last morning as I was fixing breakfast a bobcat crossed the creek! It was amazing!!!!!!
I would 100% stay here again!!!!
I feel so rejuvenated!!!!

Randal's spot was exactly as described, and he was very friendly and attentive. I didn't have time to hang out in Old Fort, but I'll definitely be back to visit the brewery on the river.

This is an absolute wonderful spot. Randal met me on arrival and we talked for 15 or 20 mins, I'm not sure, I could of talked with him for hours: great guy/host. You will feel right at home. Very private location. I didn't make a fire, but if I had, there was quite the stack offered. Located along a scenic stream and tucked far off from road. Just a few miles from the historical Old Fort. Its especially beautiful out there right now. I spent the night reading, while the fireflies were lightening it up all around me. 110/100. Thanks Randal!

We had a super fun stay at Old Fort Campsite on Crooked Creek! The entrance to the campsite is as easy as it gets, flat with room to turn around! We were able to back our RV onto a level gravel area, and we had a gigantic well maintained grass field and creek all to ourselves. Our dog loved romping in the grass! The location felt extremely safe. We stayed 4 nights, and from camp we explored Asheville, Old Fort, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Rumbling Bald, and Lake Lure areas. Randal was an excellent host and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience on his property. We highly recommend this camp, and we will be back next time we are in the area.

Camp on Crooked Creek
We had a wonderful stay at Crooked Creek and Randall was extremely helpful and thoughtful. He met us at the bridge, and helped direct us into our beautiful camping spot which was very close to the creek, with woods and mountains around us. There was a nice sitting area overlooking the creek, and he had graciously provided a firepit with plenty of firewood nearby.
The next morning we were having trouble getting our RV started, and he stopped by as he was headed out and asked if everything was alright? We explained out situation and Randal offered to help in any way he could. Fortunately, my husband was able to solve our problem, and we were "on the road, again".
We definitely recommend this host and this property. Randal is a great example of just the type of person you hope to meet during your travels.

Randal was awesome! He greeted us and was very accommodating with plentiful firewood and a beautiful creek to listen to wildlife. Highly recommended for tent or RV camping.

We had a splendid time on Randal’s property! Easy to find location and a clean space next to water to unwind for the night. Randal was a superb host, he was very friendly, respectful and even provided wood for the campfire and it definitely made our night! Would recommend!

We weren’t able to stay due to an emergency but the site was beautiful and easy to get into. The host was great to communicate with. We hope we can stay another time to be able to enjoy it.

I was looking for a safe, quiet place to park my RV overnight to break up a long drive. This spot was perfect. Randal was a great host and loaded us up with all the firewood we could burn. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm passing through and I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a little spot in the Smokies, near I-40, to throw down a tent or spend a night in their RV.

I was in a pinch after not being able to find a dispersed camping spot or open campground near Curtis Creek Rd. Within a few minutes of contacting Randall we were on the phone with him and getting to the campsite. Spot was level and easily accessible. Lots of firewood and right next to a creek. Our stay was great!

Randal was such a great informative host! His land is very convenient to downtown Old Fort where a really cool Brewery is located! He provided free fire wood for the fire pit which was a bonus! We will definitely be back to stay!
