Family-friendly
Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
Nestled in the hills of Uki at the foothills of Mt Warning (Woolumbin) - We are a 300 acre cattle farm with a mixture of grazing land and rainforest. However, everyones favourite part of the property is the flat, manicured campsite where the Door Doon Creek meets the Tweed River. With easy access to Kyogle road this 2 acre campsite offers absolute river frontage, landscaped gardens, fireplaces and enough room to get away from it all. Relax and unwind by the river or explore the many options on your doorstep, including Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaking (plenty of river to paddle, or Clarrie Hall Dam is 900m up the road). There are also many bike and walking tracks literally on your doorstep as well as the Murwillumbah Rail Trail less than 25 mins away. The other HUGE attraction to recently open is the world class UKI MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK (about a 4 min drive). Feel free to ask us for the best local swimming holes, waterfalls, and hiking tracks around the area. PLEASE NOTE: There are public toilets at the village of UKI just 2kms up Kyogle Rd.Nestled in the hills of Uki at the foothills of Mt Warning (Wollumbin) - We are a 300 acre cattle farm with a mixture of grazing land and rainforest. Campfires are allowed and if you can find firewood on the ground near the river go for it however, bags of firewood are also available for $20. The campsite is just off Kyogle Rd which makes it super accessable however, it is completely private and shaded by large trees and bushes which keep the road out. The water from the river or creek is crystal clear and usable for washing up, camp showers etc. It is only a 2 minute drive to the beautiful little village of UKI which has the farmers markets every Saturday and the UKI BUTTERY BAZAAR MARKETS on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Uki also boast a variety of specialty stores, cafes and the best pub in Australia. PLEASE NOTE: There are public toilets in UKI just 2kms up Kyogle Rd (This camp is even good enough for STONE & WOOD to shoot a commercial for their new beer and for BCF to shoot some of their catalogue here)

Tweed River Retreat
Bring your ear plugs
Bob was very friendly, approachable and efficient when responding to messages. The tweed river retreat wasn’t what I thought it would be. It was within 30m of a 60km/h with moderate to heavy traffic. There are four sites with sites 2,3,4 looking nothing like the photos displayed - they aren’t on the river front. The river was beautiful but hard to get down the steep embankment when you have young children. Overall - good facilities however the photos are a bit misleading.

Tweed River Retreat
Don't get me wrong, it's an absolutely beautiful property as well as the whole area. The owner Bob is a top guy but the deal breaker for me was that it's literally 50m from the main road. For me, camping is getting away from people and traffic and this place has a lot of traffic noise and not private. Getting woken up by trucks at 4am then cars and loud motor bikes a little later on, I wasn't too happy with. I was under the impression I could access the river for kayaking from camp but it was a very steep drop down to the water which was rapids. Great place if you're used to the noise but not for me.

My partner and I could not get enough of the beautiful scenery this campsite had to offer. The owner was really accommodating and gave clear directions to get to the spot. 10/10 recommend

Tweed River Retreat
Great spot!
We stayed last weekend with 4 kids in our caravan and loved it. The sites are nice and big and have a campfire with firewood available for purchase of you don't find your own. The river wraps all the sites but like other have said, site 1a and 1b have the better spot being close to the waterfall and easier access to the river. But other sites only have a small stroll anyway. It's only a couple of minutes to drive to Uki and have all the convenience you need and some cute quirky shops too. We enjoyed visiting the farmers Market on the Saturday. Clarrie hall dam is so close too. Would recommend!

Tweed River Retreat
Beautiful spot. We loved exploring the river for kayaking, fishing and swimming. We stayed in 1B and it was conveniently located next to he river access. It is a shared area so if you’re looking for seclusion it might not be for you. We had a fire, loved bird watching and admiring all the huge trees, elk horns and beautiful bamboo. The place was easy to find and the communication was excellent. Definitely add this location to your list.
