Nice site but too much road noise
A lovely site beside the Richmond River with excellent river access. Koala sightings were a real buzz. However, we need to point out 3 negatives:
1) It is right beside a minor road - not much traffic so we could live with that
2) You tend to look into a house on the other side of the river - we could live with this one too
3) The road over the other side of the river carries a lot of traffic during the day and starts again early in the morning. It carries lots of trucks and even the car traffic noise is very loud - we could not live with this one again sadly

Relax with the koalas
Our first impression was a little underwhelming as the site is just an area between the road and the river.
We stayed 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - kayaking each morning and watching the birds and koalas I the afternoon.
Was a very relaxing break. Very light traffic on the road, however could hear the traffic on the road across the river.
We were lucky enough to see 2 nights of cane burning from across the river - just magical.
We’ve already recommended to some other travellers we met at our next stop

Great spot. Birds and koalas up close.
Road noise from across the river becomes a bit tiresome (but it was cane harvest time).
Host very helpful but not intrusive.

Nice spot with a great host
Michelle is a great host.
We had two nights camped by the river. Good access for our large caravan. The highlight was the resident koala population. Sunrise and sunsets were great.
We took our kayaks down the river making use of the small boat ramp on site.

Nice private camp
Nice relaxing area, the road was a bit off putting because some cars travelled quite fast. Other than that the area was nice and relaxing and we were visited by a koala. It is great that it is quite private and no other campers to worry about. Beautiful river views and scenic country Views surrounded by nature.

Lovely mown area on the banks of the Richmond River lots of wildlife around, eels & catfish in the river. Nice to be able to have a fire byo wood.
