We frequently hear, "There's not a farm there!" and hence the name, Hidden Pastures. Close to civilization without knowing it is how many describe this treasure in Sussex County, New Jersey. Not seen from the road, a long driveway lined with mature maples leads back to the farm. This land has been worked for generations and we are proud to be its current steward. The old bank barn with hand hewn beams and stone foundation has many stories to tell and is the home of a variety of fiber livestock today. There is a small tributary of the Paulinskill River that is home to stocked trout. Wildlife abound with deer, fox, wild turkeys and other critters calling the woods home. Come see why our little corner of the world is truly a special place to be.
We stayed at Hidden Pastures last weekend and had a great time. Loved seeing the alpacas and the campsite was really well taken care of. It's a lovely farm with friendly owners. We also made friends with the kitty that came hang out with us at night. It was a great experience and I totally recommend it.
Absolutely fantastic, unique, and memorable! Got to walk around with Mike and feed the animals in the morning, and recieved a gracious super information lesson about fibers and weaving from Natalie. One of the most fun camping experiences I've ever had. I got to fred a blueberry begal to a yak : D
A perfect place for an easy getaway from the city - and with some adorable company too! I have to say, it was a pretty unique experience to wake up surrounded by a herd of grazing alpacas!
