Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

Lakeshore campsite, West shore of Island Lake. Approximately 45 miles from Kalispell, 57 miles from Libby, partly on gravel road. REMOTE - 90 minutes from either Kalispell or Libby. Primitive camping, car, tent, RV, no services. There is trail access to lake, for boat access use Public Boat launch, on south end of lake. Great location for fishing, hunting, or quiet enjoyment. Important: IF you are coming from the Libby area- don't use GPS directions to get here from Libby- it will try to send you on what seems a more direct route, But it is a terrible road. Please go to McGregor Lake, on Highway 2, before you follow GPS directions.

Monk's Ridge is a large private campsite, with a picnic table and several firepits (Fires allowed unless prohibited by fire danger - bring your own firewood). There is parking space for several vehicles, or RVs, and lots of space for a tent. Trail access to lakeshore. No hookups or bathrooms available. Entrance is a bit steep, but once you are up on the ridge there are several level parking/camping spaces.

Lake access by foot, public boat launch is on south shore of Island Lake. Approximately 45 miles from Kalispell, 57 miles from Libby, partly on gravel road. North Shore

We absolutely loved it. It’s a good drive down a dirt road, most of it smooth. Once you get to the property, there are several places to park. But the best is by the fire pit right on the lake. Our dog ran off leash for two days. Side note, she’s a very obedient dog. We found a rock garden full of precious campers rock artwork. Obviously we contributed. I would stay there again if traveling brought me back

Monk's Ridge

It was a beautiful spot to camp at. Clean, quiet, and lots of room to yourself. I was hoping for a lake to swim in, but it was more of a fishing lake. The family loved the fishing!! The picnic table was a bonus. Everyone really liked that spot, including the dogs!
