We are a working ranch. There are roping and horse training activities in the adjacent arena that may be going on from time to time. We are 1 mile north of Babb and 8 miles from the Canadian border at Piegan. We are approximately 14 miles from Many Glacier and 12 miles from St Mary, the east entrance to Glacier National Park and Going To the Sun Highway. Deer, elk and bear are not an uncommon site in the meadow to the south of the camp sites.

There are 2 sites, marked #1 and #2. As you pull in the gate the sites are on your left. You may want to pull around the circular driveway so that you are pointed out. This completely depends on how you want your camper set up, door, view preference, etc. The sites are on grass and are approximately 62’ x 52’. There may be some slight leveling necessary for Site #2, depending on the size and location of your RV on the site. There are no hook ups so you must be self contained. There is a dumpster available for your trash. We are a working ranch so there are people coming and going. Cows, horses, a corgi and 2 border collies live here. The dogs are friendly but tell them to “go home” if you do not want them around.

Amazing & Welcoming Ranch 💕

Traci was an excellent host! We had numerous problems on our trip out and ended up having to miss our whole first night. She was very understanding and accommodating. One of our issues was a broken brake controller for our camper, which we originally asked if we could try and have one delivered via Amazon. She happily provided us her mailing address for us to do so. Unfortunately, it would not arrive in time. She then offered to pick one up on one of her trips into town, asking us to send her specifics and she could try and grab one for us while she was out! She also offered us an alternate camp spot since we would have to run a generator (even driving us in her ATV to go scope it out). Overall, she was very hospitable, kind and quick to respond to messages. We will definitely keep their ranch in mind if we end up out this way again in the future!

Haystack Butte #2

We utilized Haystack Butte as base camp for our trip to Glacier National Park! Location was great for traveling the eastside of the park! The ranch was clean and exactly as posted! Hosts were polite and friendly! We would stay here again when we get back to Glacier National Park!

Stunning Mountains and Quiet evenin

The views of the Divide Mountains were beautiful and the proximity to Glacier NP is only 11 miles, so close. The place is quiet and the site was level. We used a couple levelers under our truck. We loved being greeted by the border collies. So nice to get away from the crowds, too. We stayed in #2 Haystack Butte. The Tmobile cellphone reception is strong. The dumpster is so convenient and close by the camping spots.
