Named “Favorite Hipcamp Site in the State of Maryland" by OUTSIDE MAGAZINE in 2020! The tallest structure on our farm is the windmill, constructed in 1874, and it quickly became the logo for our farm because a windmill is something that harnesses power for a specific purpose. For many generations, the windmill harnessed the power of the wind to grind grain or pump water, but now in the 21st century, Willet Family Farm hopes to harness the power of the outdoors to benefit every guest that comes to visit. The Willet Farm survived many hardships including The Great Depression, the 1999 tornado that destroyed the barn, and cancer that claimed the life of family members too early. In 2006, The farm had to be sold outside of the family, but in an effort to honor past generations and preserve the heritage of what the farm stood for (faith, family and hard work), Jeremy and Kathleen Willet purchased the farm back in 2017. The 13 acre farm is perfectly located in the middle of over 200 acres of farmland owned by parents and cousins. Since that time, we have welcomed over 200 guests from 20 different states and 4 different countries! We are a small family homestead, board horses and are a Renewable Energy Farm completely powered by the sun through a comprehensive solar design on our barn.Recently named "FAVORITE HIPCAMP IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND" by OUTSIDE MAGAZINE! Located in rural Carroll County, Maryland, Willet Family Farm is in the middle of 200 acres of farmland, completely secluded from any other houses. Enjoy fireflies and the sound of bullfrogs at night, and sights of deer, ducks, horses and chickens in the morning. The campsite and farm are conveniently located on a backroad off of Route 140 (the main road leading to famous attractions in Gettysburg, Baltimore & Washington D.C.), so some road noise is expected, but thankfully the beautiful, natural tree parameter around the farm blocks the view of any traffic and helps reduce road noise. We purposefully have only one campsite for the whole farm so you have more privacy. Enjoy! *Please note that our county only allows one RV or Tent on a campsite per night. Convenient, private spot

This worked out well for us. Convenient to places we needed to be. Very private & pretty country spot. Road noise was louder than expected but we did have the van wide open due to weather. Nice to have the quietly friendly “guard dog” keep us company as he made rounds.

Private beautiful farm space to sta

The farm is a great place to stay. There's plenty of room for vehicles and a large grassy area to set up a tent or RV. It's very private, there's a porta potty right next to the camping space, a water spigot by the barn if you need water and you can buy firewood when you book or onsite to use in the large fire pit. If you're lucky you'll also have the owners dog Martin come and visit with you, he's a great happy boy that makes you feel welcome. Definitely recommend staying here!

Very easy to find. Very accommodating with the porta potty and trash cans a short walk from parking / picnic tables. Fire pit conveniently located.

Willet Family Farm

A wonderful couple of nights. Nice view of the barn and field. The port o potty is right at the site and was very clean. Trash and recycling cans also right there. There are trees on the west side of the site but is wide open to the east. So not much shade at the site until 4pm or so (in May). Beautiful sunrises over the hills. We met Jeremy and Kat briefly, very nice folks. Next time we’d bring our shade structure and be all set.

Great little spot with picnic table, fire pit and DRY firewood to purchase. Hosts were super accommodating to our needs and very communicative when we needed to communicate something. Also, Martin is our new best friend now after hanging by the fire with us. 🐶

Amazing Experience

This is such a great piece of land. Convenient dry wood bundles offered, bathroom on site, ample seating for plenty of people, fire pit with cooking grate provided; couldn’t ask for a better place to stay last night. Also Martin is the goodest boy ever 🐶
