Additional conveniences include hot showers, water and electric hook-ups, a common dump station, a boat dock, and a fishing pier. For added safety, a storm shelter is available in the basement of Christ Lutheran Church nearby. Ellis is also home to three beautiful city parks, three unique museums, a miniature train ride, a municipal swimming pool, a public golf course, tennis courts, a Frisbee golf course, and horseshoe pits. The peaceful streets of Ellis provide an ideal setting for leisurely cycling or evening strolls. Weekend campers are encouraged to join local worship services at one of the nearby churches.
