Nestled in the heart of nature, the Hillview Recreation Area serves as the headquarters for the Plymouth County Conservation Board and offers a unique blend of outdoor experiences across its expansive 580 acres. Located just one mile west of Hinton on County Road C60, this stunning area features open grasslands, reconstructed prairie, oak woodlands, and diverse wildlife habitats, making it a perfect destination for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including camping, swimming, hunting, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The park is home to a captivating elk herd and provides playgrounds for family fun, ensuring there’s something for everyone. From May 1st to October 14th, guests can choose from three campgrounds, each equipped with different amenities to enhance their stay. During the fall and winter months, from October 15 to January 10, portions of Hillview are open for public hunting. If you plan to explore the trails during hunting season, please wear blaze orange for visibility and stay aware of your surroundings. For those looking to host events, the Center for Outdoor Learning and a spacious picnic shelter are conveniently located on the park's south side.
