Creekside East, Tranquility
Tranquil Indeed! Amazing place
Incredibly beautiful and serene property! Ken's land has a creek running right through, and there is a good section of land with hiking trails along the creek and through the woods. The campsite was right next to the creek, and completely isolated providing a relaxing and tranquil escape into the woods.
Ken was very helpful and welcoming, this place is amazing! Very dog friendly, as my puppy was able to play with Ken's dog, but also have plenty of space to roam around the campsite.
I can't wait to come back, this property is a beautiful exposition of the immaculate beauty of the Inland Northwest, and I am excited to see the work Ken does on new trails on the property! 10/10 would recommend

We had a nice, peaceful stay at Ken's place. He was a very welcoming host and walked us around the property making sure we knew where everything was when we got there. Our site was right next to the creek which was as described: tranquil. The only drawback was the amount of mosquitoes present, but of course that is to be expected by a creek. We did have bug spray (only half strength), but it was no match for the suckers (pun intended). I would suggest to not let the mosquitoes deter you, but learn from our mistake and bring the full strength bug spray. Despite that we thoroughly enjoyed use of the kitchen area, snacking on some raspberries and snap peas in the garden, and walking around on the trails Ken created in this lovely space. We would recommend this place to anyone who really wants to get away from it all, but also be only a short drive away from the local offerings.

Solitude (Hike in)
Paradise in Clark Fork!
Wow, what a treasure! Ken's place was beautiful, tranquil, and well maintained. He even has trails on his property, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The creek is so peaceful at night, and while there were mosquitos (not called Mosquito Creek for nothing!), we had a pleasant stay on our way back to Seattle from Glacier. Thank you Ken for hosting us!!

Ken’s land is such a special utopia - beauty and serenity abound! We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time walking his handmade trails and exploring the property. Thank you for sharing your land with us, Ken! Can’t wait to come back.

A remote bit of forest beauty.
It was remote and quiet. The camp was private and right beside a creek. The peaceful sound was a big plus when going to sleep. It was as close to a 2 day hike in that a person could wish for without it being a 2 day hike in. Beautiful paths to explore and fantastic communication with host.

Will be returning!
This place was amazing! From the start Ken was a joy to work with. He communicated everything that we needed to know leading up to the trip and was there to greet us when we arrived. The camp spot was very private, tranquil and even better that the pictures. There was wood ready for us and the spot was clean and had everything that we needed. It rained our 1st night but Spot #1 had great tree coverage so our tent did not get pounded on all night. There were a few mosquitoes but natural repellent worked great.
There are beautiful lush trails to hike on and fresh raspberries to pick as you hike right next to the creek. Spot #2 was open so we hiked over to it on day 2 and used the hammock, played games and had a picnic on the raised platform.
Saturday afternoon we went into town and went to Squeeze Inn. We will defiantly be returning. Beautiful gardens with art and truly amazing food.
All in all I would 100% recommend this spot and we will be returning to it again!

Private but primitive, nice spot
Nice spot by the creek, somewhat primitive. It would have been nice ti have running potable water and be able to have a campfire. Bring your insect repellent, it’s located in Mosquito Road for a real reason.

Camping Near Clark Fork
Ken's campsite was one of the most magical places I've been lucky enough to camp. We had plenty of privacy but Ken was also very sociable and Zipper the pup loved us throwing the frisbee. Add this campsite to your list ASAP! You absolutely won't regret it!
Site 2 is right by the river, making for a wonderful nights sleep on a wonderfully manicured campsite. There was a nice fire pit, table, hammocking trees, as well as an ax and plenty of wood for your chopping delight.
Ken has plenty of property to explore from a wonderful organic garden to trails through the national forest. I will definitely be camping at Cascadia Permaculture Center again, as well as checking out his other cabin and campsite as well!

Super majestic, cozy, friendy spot!
The property is absolutely gorgeous - even covered in snow (bring snowshoes if it’s still winter)! This is a really special spot and so well loved. The humans and animals are exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Especially cuddly Ozzy the cat. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely come back!

A buddy of mine and I recently stayed at Ken's place as we passed through Idaho, and we are certainly happy that we did. First of all, Ken is an awesome host. He is new to hipcamp, but if you find him on airbnb, you'll see that he is "super host." Despite our troubles with getting into town at a decent hour, Ken was understanding and adaptable, and he made sure our stay was enjoyable. He invited us into his home for coffee in the morning, where we had great conversation and learned about his adventures and experiences with hosting travelers. Then, we explored his property, which he has taken the time to make accessible with dirt trails and a bridge that leads you to the other side of the creek. Lastly, we topped off our experience by touring the garden and build projects before swinging on an awesome rope swing that extends over a big gully. Needless to say, it was a blast. We would highly recommend staying with Ken if you're looking for a unique, personal camping adventure.

I LOVE this place! Simply communicating with Ken made me excited to be welcomed on to the property. After getting a little lost (follow his directions, not Google Maps!), I winded through gravel/dirt roads that curved through families of trees, exposing glimpses of Antelope Mountain and the intimacy of a protected land. I arrived to find Ken working on the location near his latest cabin project that welcomes his daughters and grandchildren when they visit. The camp spots are down a trail that hugs the full flowing creek. He's built a platform for one location which conveniently provides a flat spot from which to cook breakfast and enjoy the sounds of relaxation. Ken sold 10 of his 25 acres several years ago (he's owned the property since the early 70s!) and after witnessing the abuse of the land by two owners, he purchased it back with the intention to protect and restore. All of the structures on the property- three cabins and a community yurt- Ken built. As with any project, Ken's constantly devising ways to improve and create a place where he can educate and welcome visitors to truly appreciate the land. He welcomes an exchange of services should folks wish to help him with the structures or the garden. He has chickens and the occasional WWOOFer to help him tend to the expansive garden. Be ready to hike down to your campsite, about a quarter to a half mile away. You'll want to lounge in any of the countless hammocks or hike any of the trails Ken's created. Ken also happens to run Bountiful Houseboat Charter on the Pend Oreille Lake if you're up for a swim/fishing/cruising. Schweitzer Mountain is nearby if you're there during the right season and eager to ride- Ken worked (and snowboarded) on the mountain for years. My hope is that you get to enjoy the property AND meet Ken!
