Awake to the turtle's climbing on to the rocks in the pond as the sun comes up to warm them. Don't mind the old boats, they add to the charm. The amenities are all there, 50 amp power, city water and sewer, level site, shade, your own private lighted Seminole built Tiki. Privacy, relaxation yet close to the things you might need, like groceries, pharmacy and an adult beverage store. We had an incredible 7 day experience with Jim, Carrie and the gentle giant "Shep" the great dane. Can't say enough good things about our stay at Casa da Rio. Book your site and take a deep breath, then relax under the canopy of pines and palms. 5 star + rated in our camping log book!

What an amazing place,full of trees and flowers in a quiet area,absolutely recommend,feels like Hawaii 😎😊,the property owner Jim is a pretty cool guy,he came with his guitar and shared with my family a few tunes,they’re a wonderful family ready to help you out if needed!! What a gem!! Wish we had booked longer! Jim and Carry were such awesome hosts, we had the best time! The site was amazing, loved the private tiki, our kids loved the “magical jungle”— can’t wait to go back!

The great deal of effort that has been put in by owner to make this a cool, comfortable, and unique place to visit is both obvious and impressive. The Chalmers are available, welcoming, and hospitable. The location of their hipcamp is very convenient to beach, multiple towns, etc, but, you don’t have to sacrifice atmosphere or quality for the convenience thanks to the lush landscaping and tropical sites they’ve set up. Great experience. Highly recommend.

Casa de Rio’s
Amazing time at Casa de Rio’s! Super friendly and made us feel right at home. Jim fired up the pizza oven, we made some chicken on the Traeger, fed the fish and turtles. Kids had a blast. Pups might have more fun than the kids. Better than expected and highly recommended for a nice little private getaway hosted by some super cool people. Pura Vida!

This place is very cozy and cute… a perfect little getaway from the city and noise. We ended up renting a camper from Jim and his family (who are wonderful btw) they had everything ready for us even when we announced it last minute. Just such an all around home away from home experience! And don’t forget the horse of a dog that they have, Great Dane great big ol heart!!!!!

Pros:
-close to fort pierce jetty
-neat little fishing dock with outside kitchen.
-dog friendly (fenced in)
-cool little sand area for kids
Cons:
-brought pizza stuff for the pizza oven but it was dirty.
-outside sink worked for about a minute but then wouldn’t run anymore.
-site 2 was too small to put our awning out and too small to hang out in. There was also no campfire to sit around at the site itself. Over by the car park was the closest fire pit.
-2 abandoned boats and a blown up boat ramp in the pond were kind of an eye sore. It also made it a little hard to fish with multiple people.
-on departure day, the sewage tank overflowed and took forever to drain out of the camper. It made it hard to rinse the tank and hard to keep everything sanitary. This really bummed me out.
-overall the place didn’t look as clean as the pictures. I felt a little mislead.
-overall this place isn’t a bad spot but the reason for my review is because of one thing. For $75 a night I was expecting a lot more. After staying here I’d really only think $30-40 a night for this spot is fair.
The owners were nice and I feel bad for a negative review but I don’t want anyone else to spend $75 to end up feeling like us.

Jim has all the right ideas with this exclusive camping experience. We enjoyed ourselves and the place was nice and quiet. What this place could use would be some TLC. I believe that this oasis is still in the developmental stage with very a great concept. The landscaping is quite impressive but needs to be kept up; some added landscaping items (boats) should be painted or revamped to coincide with your theme; the tiki area while being very inviting with the night lights-the spider webs, dust and dirt build up kept you from sitting and enjoy the area. Casa de Rio's will give you the rest and relaxation that you are looking for in a quick weekend getaway.

Beautiful oasis! My 2 kids, my husband, and 3 dogs spent 3 wonderful nights here. The garden is mixed with old and new, and it's like being stranded on a beautiful island, but you have everything you need and want. Many grills, smoker, brick oven for pizza, waffle maker, tropical plants within a path and over property, waterfall sound, ambient lighting, a friendly tropical bird, a curious Great Dane... the list goes on. We ended our 1st night listening to our host play guitar and sing to some of our favorites. My kids loved catching lizards, and I liked waking up to see what new orchids bloomed. It's gated and we felt very safe. Jim and his family are super friendly, and we felt welcomed. I never got so much needed rest! We had a rainy day, and we were still able to enjoy being on the deck/gazebo listening to nature. Driveway was long, but host was happy to help get our Rv back. At 1st you see things that are being worked on, and once you go down his tropical driveway you truly see the oasis. Hope to go again next year!

Jim, Carrie, & their big, beautiful great dane, Shep, were great hosts. They were kind & interactive. When we arrived, Jim offered to help back in/park our 16 ft trailer! There are full hookups in a "Gilligan's Island" themed tropical paradise. The palms, shipwreck in the lagoon, colored lighting, & tiki style huts/bar area make this place special. There is a communal area with a large table & chairs, and lots of grills for public use. In addition, there is an outdoor shower too! My wife, and 3 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback stayed 3 nights and loved it. Shep, the great dane, checked in on us regularly. He is a gentle giant. This place is an absolute slice of paradise perfection.

I was tickled when I read all of the great reviews for Casa de Rio's bc it looked too good to be true. It did not disappoint !! Hosts go WAY above & beyond to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. One odd review said "no children" - I couldn't disagree more. It's a paradise (Gilligan's Island) for children & the hosts were so accommodating to kids of all ages. Of course, just like anywhere, supervision of your own children is important. Their dog & bird were so great too. We were so welcomed that we felt like we were visiting old friends. We made some drinks, pizza, laughs & were even entertained with the acoustic guitar and punny jokes. Best couple of nights sleep we had during our whole 3 month trip bc we were so relaxed there. We will return over & over again. 100% great review !!

If you are looking for a well organized, but laid back and easygoing place around a enchanted pond. You are right there at Jim's place. We staid there for a week, worked on our laptops on the plastered, from palms and bamboo shaded patio, went running in the morning in the neighborhood, biked to the near by grocery store to get food and spend an evening in Fort Pierce. Nobody will bother you if you want to be alone, but the deck at the pond where you can spend the evening with Jim, his family and other campers is close by for entertainment. The colorful lights and illuminated trees provide the atmosphere for a very relaxed stay. - We will be back.

It was an amazing place to stay. The environment is truly family oriented. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. the tiki bar area is a good place to unwind. Would stay there again and plan to do so in the near future.

Great place to stay, very unique and close to the beaches and waterways.
Jim was very responsive and greeted us when we arrived. The landscape is absolutely beautiful and so is the tiki hut! I would highly recommend, we plan on staying again soon!

I had the best time staying at this HipCamp! Gary and Jim are awesome hosts. I love it here! I felt very welcomed Buy them and the other guest that were staying there. The property is beautiful; gorgeous landscaping, lighting, walking pathways, flowers and herbs. It was a tropical oasis, like right out Jurassic Park 😊👍 and my campsite felt very private. I brought my fur baby with me and she had a blast! I will definitely be staying here again. I also love that it’s near the beaches and mountain bike trails. Can’t say enough of Casa De Rio’s! 🥰

As we pulled into our campsite, we were blown away by the absolutely spectacular landscaped jungle! Every rv site is customized and tucked into the beautiful bamboo plants creating stunning views, privacy, and perfect shade for campers. There’s staircases from the sites leading to a brick ramp through the property leading to the outdoor open-air living space on the pond. Everything is lush and stunning! Even during the highest heat of the day, the space is shaded, breezy, and fantastic for hanging out.
The pond is beautiful with turtles and fishes and a houseboat. Our dog spent a lot of time cooling off in the water. The two acre property is fenced completely so campers can let any friendly dogs free to explore. Our dog was in heaven playing with the other dogs and running around the property and got so tuckered out from all the fun.
There’s an adorable parrot named Paco that hangs out in the outdoor space or in his spacious adorable aviary. There’s also a resident Great Dane named Shep who was such a gentle giant. He got along wonderfully with our dog and we loved getting to hang out with him. If you’re an animal lover like we are, you’ll love this amazing campsite.
In the communal lounge there’s an amazing hand-built brick wood fired oven. We brought ingredients for homemade pizza and Jim helped us out and showed us how to use it. There’s also a spacious counter next to a nice big grill that has a sink and plenty of space to prepare camp meals.
The hosts Jim and Carrie were so friendly and we loved spending time hanging out with them and some of the other campers staying as well. We loved our stay here and hope we can come back sometime to camp here again!

Casa de Rio was such a nice camping experience, it was peaceful, private, and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Our dog got along with their Great Dane Shep really well. The site was well maintained with lush greenery and a very impressive monstera, it made us feel like we were camping somewhere tropical. The tiki area was a nice place to sit in the morning with coffee or in the evening with a cold one. I wouldn’t hesitate at booking here again.

We are full-time rv-ers. We have stayed at campgrounds throughout the US and by far this has been one of the top spots we have found. Lush tropical landscaping and ample space for our 35ft 5th wheel. Jim and Carrie are amazing hosts and make you feel right at home. Common areas have such an amazing feel. This is a definite must stay if you are in the area, actually even if your not.

Incredible first experience with hipcamp! Could not have asked for a better spot or hosts! Jim and Cary made us feel so welcome and are just overall super nice, generous people. We were completely spoiled in the spot they had us in surrounded by beautiful, lush, tropical plants and a perfect view of the pond. We also loved our daily visits from their great dane Shep and getting to hang out with their African gray macaw in the tiki area. We had fires in their outdoor chiminea/ oven and got to have a little jam sesh with Jim while we were here too. We loved all the reclaimed materials Jim used to make up his space! It was such a cool vibe and added to the charm of everything. 10/10 would recommend anyone to stay here. The bar has been set way high for any other hipcamp stays we may have in the future.

What a wonderful property to visit and relax at while traveling. This was our first hipcamp booking experience and it has set a high bar for expectations going forward (not sure if that is going to be a good or bad thing). The property is amazing and the owners Jim and Carrie have done a great job with setting up sites that are usable while at the same time gives you enough space to feel secluded. As many have noted Shep the Great Dane more than likely will steal the show, our kids loved the opportunity to pet and play with him.

Whatever your expectations might be for this spot, rest assured they will be far exceeded. The campsites have a tropical feel with nice stone paver patios, 50 amp service, water and full hookup sewer. The hosts are very nice and will make sure your stay is a pleasant one. You might even catch some live music at the tiki-bar hangout area, which also has a large gas grill and wood-fired pizza oven. When my pull vehicle needed work Jim arranged for his neighbor, who's an excellent mechanic, to knock out a full brake job on a Saturday morning. (not making this stuff up, all true). Highly recommended and gives us a good reason to come back to Florida.

We’ve stayed all over the country and I have to say, Jim’s property is one of the coolest campsites we’ve ever experienced. They have carved out a lush tropical oasis that feels both welcoming and private all at once. Jim was there to help us get situated, and we enjoyed our spot tucked in the trees. I wish we had a little more time there to use the tiki hut. Super cool. Everything you need in Fort Pierce is just down the road and be sure to check out Cool Beans if you like coffee. Will definitely be returning!

Cassa de Rio was our best Hipcamp stay yet! The sites are secluded & feel like you are in a tropical paradise. Jim and his wife are the kindest people, and we would definitely recommend staying here!

When we left yesterday I told Jim that I didn't want to tell anybody about their place, and I was only half kidding! Jim and Carrie have a private jungle with a funky little cabana house situated on the edge of a pond. It's truly a unique experience. We were there for 11 days. Most of the time we were completely alone, except when Shep or Sammy would stop over to see Gus. Our dogs loved this place. We have a Golden Retriever puppy who liked it maybe a little too much and would have stayed with the resident Great Danes. Jim and Carrie go way beyond the call of duty. We decided to try our luck with the wood fired pizza oven and Carrie lent us her pizza stone while Jim showed us how to make the fire and gave Fred pro tips! We had a fantastic time. By far the most beautiful and creative campsite ever. We fell in love with Summer Crush Winery and Little Jim Bait and Tackle. (Reccomendations from the hosts.) We will definitely be back!
