Shawn’s Hideaway stands out as a unique destination due to its rich history as a third-generation family-owned business, established in 1962 by Edward “Whitey” Rodgers. Originally featuring camping, mobile homes, and a marina alongside a campground store, it has evolved into a beloved retreat for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. In 1972, the park was passed on to George and Geraldine “Gerry” Mumford, the youngest daughter of the Rodgers family. Under their stewardship, the park expanded significantly, now boasting 150 mobile home lots and 120 seasonal camper lots, providing ample space for guests to enjoy the great outdoors in comfort and privacy. Tragically, in August 2010, Gerry lost her battle with cancer, entrusting the park to the current generation. Our family is dedicated to enhancing Shawn’s Hideaway for all visitors while ensuring that the legacy of this cherished campground continues for future generations. We are committed to maintaining its charm and improving amenities, making it a perfect spot for outdoor activities, relaxation, and creating lasting memories.
