There are only four separate camping sites on this large 35 acre mountain property. Beautiful and secluded 35 acres camping property with lots of lush trees and amazing Mountain views. These Beautiful Mountain camping spots are only 1 hr 56 min south of Colorado Springs. Located at the foot of Sheep Mountain and little Sheep Mountain in Gardner, CO Hike and explore this beautiful 35 acres property. There are ATV trails through out the area, So bring your ATVs and ride the miles of mountain roads. Bring your RV, camper, tent or truck and set up camp on one of our four designated camping spots on the property. There are many great level areas to choose from on your camping site. Enjoy the night sky next to your fire pit and see every star in the sky with no lights to be seen. If you need to run your generator... No problem. (You can run your generator from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm). This quite very secluded mountain property is the perfect get-a-way form all the lights and noise from every day city living. This property is what real camping is all about. Please be considerate as they may be a few other campers nearby on the property. 46 min -  Drive to Walsenburg Reservoir and Lathrop State Park Home to Horseshoe Lake and Marin Lake. Lathrop State Park is a Colorado state park located 3 miles west of Walsenburg. The state purchased the property in 1962 and opened Colorado's first state park here later that same year. It is named after Harold Lathrop, the first director of state parks 1 hr 30 min - Drive to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, Colorado Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is in southern Colorado. It’s known for huge dunes like the towering Star Dune, and for the seasonal Medano Creek and beach created at the base of the dunes. The backcountry Medano Pass Primitive Road winds through a canyon toward the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Trails lead to forests, wetlands and alpine lakes like Medano Lake, which is home to trout and tundra wildlife 1 hr 57 min - Drive to Zapata Falls Zapata Falls is a waterfall located in the San Luis Valley near the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on Bureau of Land Management land adjacent to Rio Grande National Forest and south of Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Alamosa County, Colorado. The waterfall has a drop of about 30 feet. Prices may vary on holiday weekends. Including Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. We brought out wolf pup 16bhsbl travel trailer out to camps the site is huge with plenty of space for 2-3 other families. The directions were easy to follow, however there was one sign that was missing as per the written instructions. One of our party members missed the gate because of the missing sign. The entrance to the camp sign was a little rutted out and you should feel comfortable off roading with a trailer.

Great camping spot, we only had two campers so there was plenty of space. Views were incredible. We will definitely be back and probably make it a family event next time. Thanks Michael.

There are gorgeous 360 views, and it’s so private and peaceful. In the morning we even saw cows walking up a mountain across from our site, it was a beautiful space and I would definitely return for a refreshing trip.

I loved how secluded and quiet the property was without being too far from home. The directions were a bit hard as the rocks painted white blend in when the sun hits them (there is a red dirt road with white rocks outlining it and this is the property immediately after that one). I thought the tent sites were a bit more spread out, but they are all close to each other, so its perfect for large groups renting all 3 spaces. We got lucky and we're the only ones that booked it over the weekend and had a very peaceful and empty site. We definitely will keep this site as a go-to for future camping trips! The host was also accommodating and generous about our trip.

What an incredibly beautiful location. The directions for very easy to follow and the landmarks to follow easy to spot. The camp site itself was huge, with plenty of trails and dry river beds to follow around. We spent hours wandering looking at rocks, track marks from various animals and the different kinds of vegetation. So much cacti. We saw deer, wild turkeys, and the great wild cow on the ranch next to us. Michael was so easy to communicate with and pleasant to talk to you. We genuinely cannot wait to return and bring our friends for a big family trip.

Dry Creek was a great location for our purposes. Very secluded and quiet. We stayed 5 days and really enjoyed the freedom. Two notes: only hilltop has picnic tables, dry creek does not. i didn’t need one but i was looking for one thinking that would help me find the location. I would caution potential campers that the directions can be a little confusing. The first set of white rocks in the directions were not obvious (potentially my fault for looking too low) they are just before the turn as mentioned but it is a string of rocks at eye level on the right not a pile and not on the road. Secondly after taking that right and going up (it is much less tuna .3 miles) there is a split, go right! then another split where you will see the cable on your right (white rocks definitely obvious here). After that it’s easy but i got turned around convinced i was on the wrong property. Hope the additional directions are helpful to someone else. Again, the site was great once we got there so don’t let the directions dissuade you.

Plenty of space for larger groups, nice and quiet spot. We camped during some rain and the path to/from while muddy was still able to navigate even towing a small camper.

Great campsite. I had it all to myself, but it’s fantastic for larger groups with multiple vehicles. There are multiple fire pits, including a very large one. At least two picnic tables. Superb views, superb privacy. Best visited with high clearance vehicles.

Never found the site. GPS took me in through HWY 160 and 30+ miles down a dirt and rocky road and said I arrived at the location. It was supposed to be the property entrance and he said to go up the hill to the right for hillside? And left to Dry Creek. Got lost for about 45 minutes and left so I wouldn’t get stuck in the dark. Owner kind of blamed me and didn’t seem to care. Drove an hour and had to stay at a motel after paying for 2 nights.

The nearby mountains were a bit of a disappointment. We didn’t know they were all privately owned. Other than that, this site is EXACTLY what I would look for when camping! I absolutely loved roughing it in the beautiful state of Colorado!

We absolutely loved our Hilltop experience! Several flat tent sites, gorgeous views and the stars were amazing. The biggest fire pit we’d ever seen, it was such a fun time roasting marshmallows and taking in the stars. Very remote and great for a group. Plenty of trees for shaded areas and two picnic tables that were food for playing cards. Definitely recommend!

Hilltop provided an excellent remote and secluded getaway with awesome views. Following Michael's directions got me to the site easily. We really enjoyed the site with several camp tables and several fire pits to choose from .

We loved tent camping on Michael’s property. Hilltop had a well built fire ring, tables, and flat ground for tents. Be sure to bring in plenty of water, and a 4x4 or AWD vehicle, as the trail up to the campsite has some sections that require ground clearance. The view is beautiful! 10/10

I can’t even begin to put into words how beautiful this site was. This was my first solo camp trip and it was everything I hoped it would be. Completely secluded, peaceful and serene. The view is epic. Trails everywhere for hiking, huge stone fire pits, open area a top of the mountain. It almost didn’t seem real. I would definitely recommend to the adventure seekers.

We had such a wonderful time. Very private, beautiful and so spacious. Super close to Pueblo (one hour) and springs (hour and a half or so) and yet we felt like we were so much farther then that. Can't wait to get back. Highly recommend and had such a wonderful time. Host was very helpful with any questions I had.

We really enjoyed our time at Hilltop. The property is exactly as described and the directions were perfect. It was incredibly quiet and the sky was amazing from the site. We ventured down to the town of La Veta and happened to be there during their Oktoberfest. Really cute town! We will definitely be back!

Most remote, secluded spot ever!

We started our honeymoon at this secluded spot, we ran way later than expected and didn't arrive until midnight, but the drive up is beautiful in the day and at night. Very safe, very secluded space. GPS coordinates were given that led us right to it. Miles and miles of mountain, beautiful Pine trees, sunflowers, and friendly but timid wildlife. We saw field mice, rabbits, cows, horses, coyotes, and we saw at least one hawk. Our two dogs absolutely loved being off leash the ENTIRE time. We only saw one other couple and they were just scoping out the land for their next trip. Can't stress how peaceful and quiet it is out here. The stargazing is to die for! We will be back as soon as we can!

The Perfect Getaway!

Michael’s property was the perfect getaway to enjoy the solitude and natural landscape of the beautiful piñon pines and views of Sheep Mountain. There was ample space at the designated camp spot to choose a perfect location for the truck and several fire pits. The camp location was easy to find using Michael’s directions and the dirt roads to the hilltop site were easily manageable with a 4 wheel drive pickup and I know I could make it as well in my Hyundai Tucson if I chose the easiest driveway #3 on the left of the approach. The night sky was littered with stars and the rock fire pit was perfect for a small warming fire to enjoy with a glass of wine. The next morning I took the county roads south through some beautiful country heading to highway 160 to explore Zapata Falls and the Great Sand Dunes National Park at the base of Mt. Blanca. The falls were beautiful and a welcoming treat for my Golden Retriever and the Dunes were amazing! Michael’s camp was a perfect place to stay during my travels and I will definitely stay there again in the future.
