Awesome spot! The schoolhouse/clubhouse/coworking space is the perfect place to hang and sip on wonderful coffee, take a great (and super hot) shower to wash off the road dust, and is perfectly set up for a day of coworking.
Then, when it comes time to make camp for the night, you’ll have your pick of several epic spots with epic Mountain views.

As fulltimers, we welcomed the incredibly spacious bathrooms and kitchen. As RV entrepreneurs, we appreciated the workspace and high-speed Internet. The location was convenient to shopping and the views were inviting. We definitely look forward to staying here again!

The concept is great - repurposing a building to provide a base for travelers. The set up inside is very nice - working space, great kitchen, bathrooms and showers. All very clean, sleek and modern.
I would suggest arriving in the daylight. There are no lights in the parking area at all, just a few on the building itself. It was a little off-putting driving up, BUT surprisingly little noise from the highway and beautiful view of sunset. Heath and Alyssa were very responsive and lovely in our exchanges. I will return if in the area - and try to make more use of the facilities.

This place is awesome! Great value for all the amenities you get. We only stayed one night, but wish we would have stayed multiple. Clean bathrooms and kitchen. We really loved the coffee bar. We would stay here again in a heart beat. 10/10 highly recommend!

I would definitely recommend staying here! The schoolhouse is wonderfully maintained and the area to camp is spacious with a view! I just came to car camp with my dog, but there's plenty of room for friends if you were traveling in a larger group. The Hipcamp site is just off the road, but I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of noise from cars passing by. I'm definitely keeping this spot in mind when passing through to travel to the San Juan area!

I am so glad I stumbled upon Heath and Alyssa's schoolhouse while browsing for overnight stays with great internet. I looked at Airbnbs, VRBO's, hotels - all of which are over $100/night - before I found this unique "coworking campground" on Hipcamp. When Heath told me their fiber internet speeds are 300 up and down, I was sold. As full-time vanlifers and videographers, we needed a place to backup 200GB of footage between multiple weddings in Western Colorado. This was a lifesaver! We got so much good work done here at the schoolhouse between video shoots. In addition to the excellent internet, we also made good use of the hot showers, full kitchen, and local coffee. This is a newer Hipcamp, but I can already tell Heath and Alyssa have a great start on their big plans for this property. Make this your next overnight stop through the Western Slope!

Schoolhouse with Mountain Views
Glad we booked this location! After a week in the van with no shower, the extra amenities offered here were absolutely amazing. Very little road traffic after dark, plenty of shade, and far enough from the center of town that it made for a relaxing evening. Close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, and right along 550 where you can skip on down to the other popular towns on day trips. Heath was there to meet us and show us around upon arrival. Great experience.

We enjoyed a nice stay at Heath and Alyssa’s brand new campground in progress ahead of the RV Entrepreneur event. While the campground has not yet been developed the onprem restrooms and showers make this a fine place to stop for travelers through the area. Highly recommend.

Great property that is close to town. We stayed here in a roof top tent so we really loved having the extra amenities: hot showers, clean bathrooms with flush toilets, air condioned space to work, lightning fast internet, and communal kitchen. We were also able to walk to the store (2.5 miles each way) to get groceries and other essentials without packing up our tent and breaking camp. Fantastic sunsets to top it all off. We will definitely be back when we roll through again.

We enjoyed the schoolhouse for a working area and amazing showers! The location is amazing, especially because of the multi purpose trail that runs north and south from the property, our dog loved daily walks!

Open level dirt field, pre-construction campground. Excellent location, along walking paths for miles in both directions. Close to shopping, dining, parks, everything you may need. 45 min to Ouray.

This is such a cool spot! Heath was super friendly and welcoming and the schoolhouse itself is a neat little place to do what they're doing. It is close to a very busy road, however, so bring earplugs if that sort of thing bothers you

Schoolhouse with Mountain Views
Heath and Alyssa's schoolhouse has a ton of potential but it just did not feel safe or accessible for our family's needs during our stay. Based on the listing and location we were super excited to stay and check the space out and Health happened to be wrapping up work in the schoolhouse when we arrived and was super welcoming and kind. That space itself was gorgeously remodeled and has a ton of potential for whatever future direction they choose. The hipcamp space however is just a torn-up gravel parking lot behind the building which is RIGHT next to a very busy highway with open access to the frontage street. Perhaps I would have felt safe in an RV or camper van where we could lock up and tune out but my family was road tripping while sleeping in our rooftop tent and the lack of distance from traffic, security (no gates or fencing), and surroundings felt very exposed and unsafe. We set up for sleep and dinner after arriving around 5 pm but after about an hour of observing traffic including folks randomly walking in and pulling in and out of the lot we just didn't feel safe sleeping there and packed back up to drive on further for the night before booking a different site for the night.

Great value! Looking for an inexpensive place to park our trailer near Ridgway State Park and found this place on Hipcamp. Very quiet place to stay a couple nights. Super clean bathrooms with excellent showers. Heath and Alyssa were great hosts - even gave us free use of the kitchen facilities!
Only 20 min from Ridgway State Park.
We will definitely stay here again if the State Park is full.

We had a nice shady spot to park our camper van, but we didn’t stay there much because the air conditioned workspace in the school building was just so convenient. We took advantage of the high speed internet (300 mbps) and got lots of work done. We also used the showers and the kitchen, enjoying a group meal with the other RV Entrepreneurs who were staying there.

I had a great time staying at Heath & Alyssa’s schoolhouse retreat. They made sure to provide clear directions to the property. Once I arrived, I had plenty of space to setup my campervan, and enjoy the beautiful mountain views. The blazing fast internet, hot showers, full kitchen, & large coworking area really made for a great stay. I’m looking forward to coming back again on my next western Colorado adventure!

We had a great time at Heath and Alyssa's and met some really great people during our stay! Facilities are recently renovated, so pretty much brand new and squeaky clean. Our parking lot boondocking site was pretty far in the back so nights were nice and quiet. Oh, and the internet was fantastic in the school house, got so much work done! Heath and Alyssa made sure we had everything we needed and were excellent hosts. Looking forward to coming back!

Great property to stay for a few days. The cottonwoods provide some nice shade during the day. The schoolhouse has been restored and completely redone, with even more cool improvements coming. Heath and Alyssa are great hosts!

Awesome oasis in a big storm! (Literally) we secured this spot via the app in the afternoon and came to it after soaking in the hot springs at night .Directions were clear from the description and the owners. It was so nice with clean bathrooms, great showers, and a kitchen to prepare our meals! It is new so we look forward to coming back in the future! Owners were really kind!
